Well my wife and i got to look at a new 25 WB LE the other day and it seems to check most of our boxes ( walk around bed being the biggie ). We will use the unit for week long vacations with our son who is currently 8 months old. Plan on hauling paddle boards , bikes, kayaks, and sometimes a 4 seater golf cart. The unit will be garaged and because of this I suspect the life expectancy should increase - can I get 15-20 yrs out of this unit? Can anyone offer any opinions or advice on this unit or a similar sized WNP unit. The prices seem to be reasonable from what I have seen.
We got ours last week and have been building shelves, and loading our gear for our first trip the first of next month. I still have to install TV brackets in the bedroom and living area. We sized way down from a 40' motorhome that was eating our lunch every week. I've had it on shore power all week. The fridge freezer is at -4F and the fridge area is at 38F.. The water heater, Atwood 6 gal works fine and the full size queen bed seems ok for us. I wish we had a regular oven too. We will take our EZGO gas golf cart with us along with a !3' kayak.
. Loaded for our first trip. We towed it yesterday 25 miles. Pulled ok with 2013 Silverado 1500 z-71, 5.3 , Blue ox sway pro 1500. Towed at 65 mph most of the trip. Transmission temp @158 max. I have p 265 tires but have ordered LT 265 to boost rear capacity. I can give an update around 3/12/16.
After our recent trip towing our new 25WB for a weekend get away we had to get a larger truck. The Silverado towed great with the ST tires we had just bought however, as the outside temperature approached 80 degrees, the transmission temperature went above 203 even with the extra cooling package. The truck stayed in 4th gear sometimes dropping to 3rd and as a result, the mileage dropped to about 5 mpg. The trailer was loaded as usual along with our gas EZGO cart.
We ended up with an 2016 F250, 6.2 gas 3:73 rear crew cab XLT trim. Standard trailer brake controller 10,000 GVW package FX4 shift on the fly SAT RADIO, XLT value package, was $47K. Whole different ballgame now.
Just purchased a 25WAB and will be towing with my 2013 F-150 Platinum ECCo Boost. Same hitch weight as my 18EC but 1600# heavier. GVWR is 11,300 and trailer dry weight 7400#. Anyone tow their 25WAB with a F-150 Ecco Boost. Picking it up Tuesday the 31st.
