Mine is mounted with the same bolts that attach the center hinge for the drop door. I modified a bumper mount, it lets down with the door.

Here's mine before I painted both the mount and the frame prior to final install.

I bought an 18' Toy Hauler and it didn't have the spare. I just got one today at a local RV place. I mounted it under the trailer on the cable and when I tighten it all the way up, it still flops around a little. It lays at an angle resting on the turning shaft to raise and lower.

This seems dangerous. Is this normal? Is there something missing that would go on top of the tire to make it stable?

Two of my three spares are mounted on the stock underside slide out rack. The third spare is kept chained in the bed of the TV. The Aviator came stock with the slide mount. No crawling around and it locks.

Is it possible you have the wheel upside down?

Ah, didn't think of that. I did put the air valve up as I didn't want it to get clipped off with some road debris. I didn't think that it may fit differently the other way. I'll give that a go tomorrow. If it is still loose, I was thinking of making something out some 2x4's so it doesn't lay against the cranking bar.

There are a couple of ideas for under floor mounting in this thread.

If it's a standard spare tire winch it should winch all the way up tight. you should not be able to move the spare tire.

Two things I would do.

Remove the spare tire and see if the winch cable will go all the way up without the tire on it.

Second: Wheels have a offset you might have to flip the spare over so the cable has a longer pull?

Spare Tire Location

My W&P came with it mounted behind the rear axle with the crank system like on the truck. Out of site and hopefully never to be used.
