Mods and Tweaks for 30WR Work and Play #3

I have changed 70% of the inside lighting to LED.

Additional Clearance lights. I added four more lights to each side and five across the rear. I can also turn these lights on from inside the TH when not connected to the TV. Because...I could.....

I added a second AC to the Garage. My W&P came pre wired for the second AC.

Mods and Tweaks for 30WR Work and Play #1

I thought I would start a thread and show some of the Mod and improvements to my 2011 30WR Work and Play. Maybe there are some others out there as well. I wish I had read the small print before I loaded all the pics on this one thread. Guess I will have to do more than one to get them all in here.

This is the 30WR.. Minus most of the awning that blew off going down the highway...That was fun, and before the second AC install..

Delta Tongue Box. I use this box for battery storage for four 12 volt deep cycle batteries. I also included a shelf above the batteries that hold power cables and water hose.

Four deep cycle batteries give me about 340ah

Folding End Tables put in the garage at the end of the garage couches.

Mods and Tweaks for 30WR Work and Play #2

E Track Tie Downs Locking Condor Wheel Chock in the Garage

Added 19" TV to the garage. Cabled for Sat and Park Cable. Also added Satellite to Main TV.

Fresh water tank support. I did not like the way the fresh water tank drooped over the front axle. I added this support padded with Neoprene.

8 Foot ladder storage under garage.

1/243, You didn't get a spare tire with you WR, Mine was mounted under the garage floor where you put your ladder?
Looking at how you cabled up your 4 batteries, since they all in parallel. You could have terminated your negative cable to the first battery instead of splicing it the way you did and running it to the last battery.
That support for the water tank looks real good, I'm concerned about my fresh water tank bulges when it full.

Thanks. I did not like the way the fresh water tank drooped down. Mine kinda molded that way even when it was empty.\\

I found putting the positive at one end and the negative at the other is the best way to go. This allows the bank to act as one large battery and better balenced. .

Just thought would update my Mods and Tweaks thread

Added outlets to each side of the dynette. Before the outlets were under the upper cabinet and cords and wires hang down..

Added a heater vent to the bathroom, my 30WR did not come with one.

Battery Off/On Switch. This will cut off all the power to those little vampire lights that stay on when your on battery which means I can go longer before having to recharge the batteries..

Polished the upper cap and fenders

Looks good.

Diamond Brite from Lowes. This is the kind of polish that turns black as you work it on aluminum. You want to use a foam applicator on your drill or polisher and make sure you tape off any caulking becuase it will turn it black if you don't.. Lot's of work and lots of elbow grease required..

I did this Mod a while ago but I used chain as the ramp support instead of cable. I decided to go with cable and corrected that today... Chain was a good Idea because you could just jump a link to keep things even but I did not like the way it looked.

Upper eye let is 3/8" stud drilled through the steel frame.

At the bottom I use a Turnbuckle for adjustment

Future plans are to get a patio room....

This is also a older Mod that I forgot to add. I added Tornado tank cleaners to both the black and gray tanks.

The kits come with a clear flexible hose which is not very ideal looking setup. So I hard plumbed the Tornados with pvc.

Probably the best tank cleaning method available.

I added the back flo preventer right to the tank.

There are 2 issues with your set-up that I can see.. It appears you have 2 different types of batteries in your pic.. That can lead to charging issues...

My trailer was brand new and the original battery was a 24 series with 85ah.. I added 3 more 24 series batteries with 85ah so there should be no imbalance. When these go I will replace all four with 6 volt golf cart batteries.

I thought like you when I first did the battery upgrade until it was pointed out that I needed to have the positive and negative on opposite sides of the battery bank for proper Balance. You have to think of the bank as one big battery.

Ok.. I wasn't sure by the pic if they were the same.. Some people forget to consider that when increasing their battery capacity..

How is the e-track on the feet? I need to add more tie downs since I will be carrying 2 atv's in my 30WLA. My concern is when loaded front to back, the front atv is up near the sink and cabinets. I'm looking at the short 4" sections that I can custom fit to the atv's, but may still be functional when I put the Harley ('15 Limited) in the back too. I plan to use a front wheel chock with side and rear tie downs. The e-track looks much easier to install. As long as my wife won't complain about stubbed toes, I think it will work. She is going to get a piece of carpet to lay down in there anyway, so it shouldn't be an issue.

I use carpet. I only carry one street bike so I leave the carpet down. I cut out where the brackets for the Condor chocks go. I added the Etrac to be versatile but I actually tie down at the front and rear of the Etrac. I put four bolts at the front and back of the trac and then two bolts about every 10 or 12 inches.. I used 1/4" carriage bolts with fender washers on the bottom...

The RV Port in the pictures I included above was at my old house and it was 18x36 with 8' legs which gave it a height of about 11' at the center.

The new one I had built at my new house is 20x41 with 9' legs. Center height about 12' The slab is 20x45
