Murphy Bed

Question: I have a 2013 18EC with the Murphy Bed. Anyone leave the bed down when traveling? Any damage?

murphy bed

Good question. We have a 2304 MiniLite. The floor plan gives us a generous tongue weight given the trailer length (CAT scaled at 725 lbs) as we have it loaded for travel. So yes, we would like to reduce that weight and suspect towing with the bed down would move some of the weight off the tongue. So, if anyone has tried the bed down in the travel configuration, we would like to know your opinion. Thanks

2013 18EC here as well .... why would you want to leave the bed down?

Leaving it down while travelling would cause alot of stresses on the base of the bed bouncing up and down over time. Our Streetglide is loaded against the Murphy base with a Baxley LA Chock ... perfect setup ... so we would be unable to leave it down.
