Stabilizing the Fresh Water Tank

The fresh water tank on my 2010 WPT30WR apparently has no hardware to locate it side-to-side, and can slide left-right while going down the road. It recently pulled the gravity fill hose off of the nozzle on the fender. I pushed it back over and reattached the hoses, but would like to prevent this from happening again.

Anyone had this problem or know of any solutions?

Well Mr Andretti ... (Just Kidding!)
Seriously? Your water tank is sliding around?
Other thank making a brace or keeping some water in the tank, I have no idea.

Yeah, I was surprised. I prefer to haul with the tanks empty whenever possible. Unless someone knows of a canned solution, I will probably just bolt or weld a piece of angle on each side to keep it located where I want it. I am just kinda hoping to hear that something like a hold-down strap must have just fallen off? Seems like a major oversight. I have to say I am impressed with the heavy duty support bars that the tank sits on, though. Much nicer than the typical banding material seen on other campers.

Mine sits on a couple of pieces of plywood and the heater pad may help keep it from moving around.

Tank secure

Currently they are adding an angle tab on each corner of the tank, mounted to the heavy tube support bars. this tab will keep the tank from sliding from side to side.

What size of angle? Welded or bolted on? Got pics? Thanks for the info!

I would use aluminum angle and put some kind of rubber pad between it and tank.

My brand new Roo 233s is the same.
I never would have thought to check if not for your post.

No what to do?
Is this a warranty item or design feature?

Does anyone know if these "unfixed"FW tanks are normal or not. I have to bring my trailing to the factory for another item I want to know if I should mention it.

My tank does not slide around but I usually keep at least 20 gallons of water in it when traveling. What I did not like was the way the front of the water tank drooped down. Much more noticable in the front than in the rear. I had some 10 gauge steel bent at a 90 degree angle by a metal shop . I added Neoprene rubber to the inside surface that contacts the water tank.. It lined up perfectly with the overhead floor support.

You can see the brace on the left side of the picture

Quick & dirty fix... The access isn't good enough for my hack welding skills. I had some ~1 1/4" steel angle laying around, and grabbed a couple pieces that were long enough to span across the two 2" square tubing beams that hold the tank up. I picked up 4 small (2 1/2" opening) C-clamps, located the tank where I wanted it, and clamped the angles to the top of the support beams, against the sides of the tank. As long as the C-clamps don't work loose, this should work well. Here's a pic, not sure if it will help or not.

BTW, keeping it about 1/3 full of water did not help me. It would still pull the hose off periodically.

Just got home from an 1800 mile trip, and the C-clamps have held up great so far.

When I had my unit back to the FR factory for some other warranty work I mentioned that our FW tank was sliding from side to side.

They put in rubber blocks at either end screwed up into the floor of the trailer.
