'14 Roo 17 Mildew on the inside of the bunk end

Hello, I have found postings about cleaning the bunk ends with various cleaning products, ie Tilex, star brite, oxi clean, etc.

The problem is when people are describing the solution to the problem it sounds like they're talking about either the outside vinyl or they say canvas which I take as being the cotton canvas material on the side walls that unzip.

The problem I have is the inside ceiling of the bunk end has mildew stains on it, I guess "canvas" would be the generic term but the material does not feel like true canvas to me. I had an old popup that had vinyl coated canvas so I know what that is.

The material on the inside of my bunk ends feels more like a plastic/vinyl material that has a vinyl coating on the outside.

We have never had a problem with mildew stains before, I have had the ends open with a fan running but we have a very damp summer so I think that has something to do with it.

So have people used the above mildew removers on the inside ceiling of the tent ends, not just the side walls?

Thank you for any info you can provide.

Chuck

I guarantee you that almost all the mildew/mold posts here, are pertaining to the inside of the canvas.

The tent ends are vinylized canvas, with the outside being vinyl and the inside being canvas.

So it's not a cotton canvas like my old popup? the popup was vinyl on the outside and cotton canvas on the inside, it was actually kind of fuzzy on the inside.

The new Roo is vinyl on the outside and a type of non-cotton material that has a weave type texture to it on the inside.

Not saying it's not cotton.
Just that it's a canvas type of materials that has a vinyl coating on one side.

Contact TJ Snuggles if you want more info.
A tag with their name and some info, should be sewn into one of the inside seams.
They've been making the canvas ends for Roo/Shamrock hybrids for at least 13 years.
