2008 Rockwood Roo 232 Electric Tongue Jack

I've never purchased one before but I would like to add an electric tongue jack to the front of the camper so I don't have to hand crank up and down.

Does anyone know which one I need?

I'de appreciate any help. Thanks.

Pick any you want. Any electric tongue jack will work on a Roo/Shamrock.

This is the one I have on my TT:

I'm a firm believer when it comes to tongue jacks get one that far exceeds your tongue weight. they are very handing when hooking up a WDH bars.

My Roo has a round hole and 3 triangular positioned holes for mounting the tongue, very common or even standard. Just make sure your new jack will fit that hole. There may be different diameter jack posts. Install while hooked to the truck and all the weight is off the jack.

My circa 2005 UltraFab is still running strong. I have an adjustable telescoping leg so I'm not winding and winding the jack to get the right height.

I've regreased my jack one time. Should to it again but I only think of it when on the road. Beware the entendable part can disconnect from the gears and drop out! I bungee mine just in case.

northern tool has them. you can pay a little or you can pay big bucks. i prefer the jack that runs off of 4 prong on vehicle. just plug it in when you pull off the wdh. 3 hole centers are on lots of web sites.

Something I should have mentioned the Jack head does not need to be positioned forward. Many times the electric jack from the factory will not allow the tailgate to come fully down when connected to the trailer. I solved this problem by turning my jack 90* Just something to consider.

The flip side to that is if your jack has a light on it, and my factory one does, that makes it shine to the side and not light up the hitch area where you would most likely need it. After 3 years, however, I’ve only turned my light on once, so it may not be a big deal, but something to be aware of. My Silverado can drop the tailgate with less than an inch to spare.

Pretty sure most that come from the factory are using 3500 pound, that's what mine is on the 21DK.. I do find that when I go to raise the trailer up really high to make it easier to get the weight distribution arms on, it slows down a lot and seems to struggle some. So maybe a 4 or 5000 pound would be better..

Ditto what njfishing said. Realize that when you raise your trailer back up when you are connected to your tow vehicle to connect the 2 WDH arms, you are now also raising the weight of the rear end of your tow vehicle in addition to the tongue weight of your trailer.
