2009 Roo 21SS Plastic lower molding on slide about to come off

The piece I'm talking about is the brown plastic curved moulding piece at the bottom of the slide. The piece flops around/catches the wind, etc. Its worse in the front than the rear but both ends are concerning. Looks like a poor design in general. I have seen some newer models that appear to have a reinforcement at the front of the slide on this piece. Is there a way this can be fixed/reinforced?? I recently traveled in some HEAVY wind and ended up using vice grips to lock this to the solid piece on the trailer. Had I not done this I believe this piece would be long gone...

You're not the first.

That's a common problem on Roo's with the full height slide like yours, the 233S, etc. It's a bad design. A friend left that skirt on his 233S somewhere between SD and OH.

It needs to have some type of brace from the bottom of the skirt up to the floor. I suspect there is no place to attach the top of the brace to as the slide floor is above the main floor.

Can you post a few pictures of that area from the backside of the fascia with the slide closed?

The aluminum tube close to the fascia is the bottom of the slide wall itself?

If so you need a couple of braces from the bottom of the fascia up to that tube. Think like the brace on the fixed fascia in your pic but turned 180*. Something more substantial like some 1-1/2" x 1/8" aluminum bar stock.

Another fine example of insufficient engineering and shoddy assembly. All to save about $1.27 in material and labor.

Yep........a piece of scrap term bar swept up off the factory floor, and securely attached into 1/8" luan at the top with 1 screw that was most likely stripped by one of the Yoder brothers LOL.
