What is big glass canister for in water system?

It is getting cold in our area, so i started thinking about winterizing. We just bought our used 2011 23SS ROO this spring, and we love it by the way!!! But the dealer we bought it from is TERRIBLE! The dealer that sold it originally is great, judging by some ? we had that the purchasing dealer was absolutely no help, but they helped. Any way i did some looking around and found there is no tube to draw antifreeze trough the system, so i will put one in, but cant figure out what the big glass canister that looks like it should hold a filter, but is empty, is for? Times camped this year 7 for 21 nights,Did i say we LOVE OUR ROO, and NO leaks!

The pump and filter in my 233S are located in the front accessed through the cabinet. False panel on the left part of the cabinet but yours might be different. Is this the canister you see? I borrowed the pic from Force, who has a 2013 23S.

If so, I believe the OEM water filter is a Water Pur CCI-10-CLW Clear Water Filter Housing and uses a CCI-10-C filter. Everything in standard 10" length will work in that housing. What you want is a low micron cyst filter with as high a flow (in GPM) as you can get.

You could also forgo that internal filter and use an external inline filter from Camco. I believe its 100 micron rated. I use both.

It is a water filter ... Many don't use it. My waters is good and I flush at the beginning of the year. Know your water and your area then decide.

Also you can blow your system dry with compressed air instead of antifreeze. Just another option.
