2022 Shamrock 233s Furnace

Hey all,

Well my trip to the Rockies went great… until. So the first night out we were at a campground with electric. Got down to 40deg that night so used the furnace. It went great, kept us nice and warm. Then moved to a campground with no hookups at all for 4 nights. Didn’t use the heat the first night as it was still comfortable but the next night was quite cold. Turned the heat on, went to bed, woke up to find it had just been pumping cold air into the camper all night long and it was freezing. I cycled the furnace on and could hear the clicks but it would not ignite apparently because I could hear it clicking a few times and give up continuing to blow cold air. I made sure the propane tanks were full. Ended up turning on the stove tops for a bit for some warmth. Could never get it to work again so just bundled up at night which was fine but I’d like to get to the bottom of the furnace thing for when we have the kids with us. Battery level shouldnt have been the issue either as it is a 300ah LiFePO4 that was probably still at 85%. Any ideas as to why it might work in shore power but not battery?

I am guessing this had nothing to do with shore power or battery power.

I had this happen too this spring, we ran the heat just fine for a couple nights then it just blew cold air. I was in an area near a town with a few RV dealers. I didn't have all my test gear but was pretty sure my issue was the igniter, I talked to 3 dealers and none had an igniter but they all said igniters never go out and its probably the sail switch (they didn't have that either). Anyway, we just bundled up the rest of the trip and when we got home I ordered parts off amazon. Turns out my testing was right and it was the igniter. Easy fix.

Your issue also sounds like igniter to me. In other rv's I have had, when the sail switch fails it doesn't stay running and blow cold air, it usually cycles a few times and doesn't stay lit and then faults out. A bad igniter seems to try to run but doesn't light and then keeps runnig the fans to blow out unburned propane.

I bought the whole tune up kit, saved the sail switch and replaced the burner and the igniter. It is running great now.
