21ss slide not working

Please help! We just bought a 2004 Rockwood Roo 21ss. Everything was working fine. Something drained the battery while it sat for a week in the driveway. We have since recharged the battery and are plugged into outlet. Everything started working, got the slide out. Now, The slide out is stuck out. Everything else is working just fine. We cannot go camping like this!

We have tried jumping the battery with our truck. We verified the battery is new at Batteries Plus. We cannot find a hole on the opposite side of slide to manually crank. Cannot see a spot under the sofa to crank. Cannot find where the fuse may be to replace. Cannot find a reset button. No noise when pressing button.

We appreciate any advice!! Thank you!!!

welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. A big share of problems with slides are traced to the re-settable breaker that is most times along the frame rail by the batteries on the cable leading to the slide. Give that a check. JMHO

My Roo 23SS slide is different (motor is visible under the sofa) so this is guesswork:

Manual slide retraction usually involves manually rotating the slide motor with a special tool -- got a funny looking, long handle device?

Your slide motor may be accessible from outside and under the slide -- somehow.

See if you can trace the wiring as there may be a circuit breaker in the wiring. These slides typically need a good battery to work due to the amperage draw.

(This is a bump if nothing else.)

My 2007 Roo 23SS had a separate fuse under the frame, on the slideout side. It blew and I had to crawl underneath to replace it. Not sure if yours has the same thing.

Problem Solved!!

Thank you all for replying with great ideas. We really appreciate these forums as they have provided us with so many troubleshooting suggestions. We tried every single suggestion, but just couldn’t DIY it.

We had a technician come out to help us. He unscrewed the slide button, pulled out the wiring until he reached a fuse. The fuse was blown. Replaced the fuse and we have a working slide out again! Yay! We are now settled in to our campsite and ready to relax and enjoy our Roo!

Thanks again to everyone for all the help!

Good news!

Got a photo of the "slide button?" Or is this just the switch on the wall?

Put a spare fuse (or two) in your parts drawer they're cheap. Fuse blew for some reason that you will want to investigate. I usually "help" our 23SS slide just to cut strain -- and subsequent amp draw -- on the motor.

Yup, just the button on the wall that you press to power the slide out.

Will definitely stock up on some extra fuses!
