23ikss canvas

I have a 2015 23ikss Roo with rodent damage on both canvases. I contacted TJ Snuggles about replacements and they said they are only making replacement canvas back to 2016. Do'es any one know if the 2015 and 2016 23ikss have identical canvases?? There are other places that can make replacements but they do not have templates so you need to send your canvas to them for a match up.

Yes , they need to have my canvas to use as a template . Tj Snuggles {now a part of Lippert} has templates , meaning I can leave my canvas on until I get the replacements and only pay shipping one way. But they can only make back to 2016 mine is a 2015 . Hence My question, Are 2015 and 2016 the same?

Bear Creek looks like $1500 for the set (base price?).

Need to replace the whole thing or can it be patched/sewn? Great Lakes region used to be awash with sail makers who have all the tools and skills.

Bear creek quoted me $1,000 for the pair. Plus shipping , That would include my shipping my damaged canvas to them for a template and them shipping the new canvas back to me. TJ Snuggles is $650 per end but they have the template for the 2016. thus my question ,Will the 2016 canvas properly fit a 2015?

I "think" it would. I am about 99.5% sure it would having had a 2017 Roo which I ordered in 15, which was supposed to be a 16 and arrived as a 17. Not many changes were made, if any, to the bunk doors over that period and the bunk door arrangement was/is consistent across all the floorplans.

Perhaps the only folks that can answer your question 100% is Rockwood/Flagstaff, and they're usually really responsive. Its just a question of whoever at the division you make contact with getting your question to the correct person.

Bear Creek is, or was, usually fast with turnaround time. I ordered an entire canvas for a popup and received it in less than 3 weeks IIRC.

I think I would just send them the canvas and wait it out. Who knows what changes Lippert made to TJ Snuggles. Lippert is notorious for buying out a company and then rapidly cheapening the product while increasing the prices of any proprietary replacement parts. Bear Creek was first class when I dealt with them and the product was over the top well made.

Bear creek said they were 2 to 3 months out on orders. I live about 3 hours from them so it would probably be cheaper to drive there than to ship . Taking the canvas off now would side line the camper for the summer. I have patched the front bunk with a rubberized tape but that is not a long term fix. I think the are the same canvas between 15 and 16, the one change on the front inside was moving the entertainment center but I don't think that would change the bunk end. In the rear some of the cabinets seemed change but again not the bunk end.

Just curious - how did the rodents get in and start this mess in the first place?

Has this been repaired?

One thing that I've never really liked about my Roo "canvas" is it ain't canvas and doesn't breathe like the Sunbrella fabric my popup had, it's impervious vinyl on the sides and roof and seems to manufacture condensation. If I had to replace mine I'd want a vinyl roof and Sunbrella walls.

Nifty idea, Chuck!

We camp in the spring/summer/fall seasons so at night, we partially unzip the vinyl on each end and turn the bathroom fan on low. This has (so far) kept condensation at bay.

title dates don't mean much... they should go by manufacture dates... mine was made in September 2013 but titled as a 2014 when I bought new the following MAY

Forest River model years, as least the Roos, could start as early as May or June of the previous actual year. The build plate shows the construction date and is especially valuable when looking at trailers or any RV on the lot especially at those end-of-season sales. I've seen several over 2 years old being sold as "new."
