4 Trojan cost $1500 (although maybe $750 if you have a local supplier and don't ship)
weight 256 pounds
50% discharge means 225 amp hours before charge
500-800 cycle life with 50% discharges

3 Lifepo4 cost $2850 (although again maybe as low as $2250 with different suppliers)
weight 87 pounds
80% discharge means 240 amp hours before charge
3000-5000 cycle life with 80% discharges
takes up about 1/2 the space of 4 6vs

so 2-3 times the price but 10 times the life and easier to work with.
Right on the mark. Emphasize 87 lbs vs 256 lbs. that alone is persuasive.

I talked to Battle Born, their batteries are good for a 100% discharge and all 100 amp hours are usable (supposedly).

Their price on Amazon is what I was using at the high end. I saw that 100% discharge as well, but what does that mean in volts? Or at they saying 100 ah brings you down to voltage low enough you have to charge? Either way when my 2 regular 12v deep cycles bite the dust that came with my camper, I'm going with 2 of those.

Don't know if I am going to be courageous enough for 100 %, but I am sure the BMS will shut them down before you can harm them. I have been down to 20% or so a couple times when running all the systems in the camper in cold weather, including a little battery heater 80 watt, thru a small inverter. Didn't seem that bother them. What is cool is that my vehicle alternator brought them back to full in 2 hours.

I am going to call and ask the same question. I am going to self limit to 80% most of the time when I get mine.

Another factor with lithium that no one is mentioning is that you can put them pretty much anywhere. Mine will be under the foot of the bed along with the converter and solar controller. Gets weight off the tongue and way less likely for them to get stolen off a travel trailer if they are hidden inside.
