AC question

Dometic ac fan will not come on in the auto position. The compressor will come on but no fan. The fan will only work in the on position. Any thoughts?

It would help to know the model of the A/C and also the type thermostat you have.

Having said that, you probably have an analog t-stat. Try removing the cover and jumping a wire between the green wire and the fan terminal. If the fan runs then it's most likely a bad t-stat.

And if it is a bad T-stat, install a digital and you'll be much happier with the way it holds the temperature.

I’m having same issue and don’t know what type of A/C I have. But like the person above, the fan does work so should I assume then it’s the thermostat?

Fedrocker -- Are you saying that the fan works if you jump out the wires on the thermostat?

Can you post a picture of your thermostat?

So Bama R..., no. Turns out that the auto on my dometic was freezing up, and the cure is to run the fan on high in the “on” position. The freeze usually happens in the evening I’m told.

So most likely it was freezing up after the fan switched to low and it ran a while. I can see that happening.
