Anyone else have this problem?

Well, bought new Shamrock 183 (model year clear out) which is a twin to the Roo...posted earlier about some issues I am having with the bunk ends. I should also mention that this unit has NEVER been slept in, only damaged by the dealer when they folded the tent ends back in and pulled the snaps right through the fabric and started a small tear in the corner from over stretching. Being that ours is a 2011 snap/bungee cord type, I can see no end of problems with the system. I have attached photos so you guys can see what I am talking about. I am getting NOWHERE with the dealer I purchased from and to be honest, they have left a very bad taste in my mouth. And to think I am now on the hook for 19 grand for this thing. Any ideas/help on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that is still covered under warranty. Can you contact another dealer that does warranty work and maybe have them do it? I'm just guessing here since I have no experience...we don't even have our camper yet.

Would first try to call Forest River to see what could be done. If you get no satisfaction, I would see if that portion of the canvas could be removed and taken to an upholstery shop for repair, or see if the dealer (doubtful) would absorb the cost or at least share the cost of repair.
You never said if you bought it "As is" or with the understanding that nothing was wrong with it.

Nope. Did not buy as is. Was sold to me as brand new. Just got off phone with sister dealership that owns the one we bought from. Promised me some more "results". Took to several upholstery repair places, no one will touch it because it has to be completely removed to fix. Bummer. Now wondering how hard it would be to remove and replace tent ends myself...Don't mind doing the odd repair or maintenance myself, but not when it's just barely been driven off the lot.

I would not try and repair that myself.

You say you bought new with a warranty, right? This is definitely an item that FR or the dealer should cover.

I wish you the best with the "sister" dealership and I agree that you call FR if that does not work. This should not be such a hassle.

Oh, and please post a review of the original dealer here to help others who are considering buying through them.

I would impatiently wait for the dealers results and be prepared to contact Forest River directly should the results be less than satisfactory.

I've had the snap/bungee System for over 5 years now and have never had any issues or problems.
Remember, the snaps/bungee System has been the standard on hybrids and popups for many years.
