battery storage
Over the winter storage should I take the battery in the house, this is the first winter on the new 10' ROO, Should I blow out the water lines or fill with antifreeze? Should the anode rod be replaced every year I pulled it to drain the water heater and it don't look to bad. one last question I just bought this 2016 ROO 19' is it a 12 volts system? can I put it on a BATTERY TENDER ?

1. A fully charged battery will not freeze (or your car would be in trouble), so whether you bring it in or not is your preference. (see more below.)
2. Blowing out the lines or using AF is also your preference. I prefer to blow out and not put AF in my lines, but many others do use AF. In either case, be sure to pour AF down the sinks and shower to fill the traps with AF, because that water will freeze if you don't. And if you just blow out, some folks suggest that you run the water pump for minute with the fresh water tank drained in order to "pump" out any water in the pump. (I have never personally done this, and I haven't had a problem with the pump - yet!)
3. Anode rod - again, your preference. Some people change them every year, some change them every couple of months. I had my Roo 19 for 3 years and never replaced it, as it always had a lot of material left on it (probably 40-50% after 3 yrs).
4. Yes, the stuff powered by the battery are 12VDC. Your 120VAC shore power hookup supplies a converter, which changes the 120VAC to 12VDC to both power the 12VDC lights, furnace fan, fridge and water heater controllers, etc. and also charges the battery.
5. Yes, you can/should put the battery on a battery tender, although some folks have reported their battery staying charged all winter with nothing hooked up to it. If you have 120VAC available over the winter, you could just keep the battery in place and let the converter keep the battery charged. However, converters aren't always the best thing to use for long-term charging so many folks put a Battery Tender on their batteries over the winter. I bring mine home and put it in the garage or the basement with a Battery Tender on it. I swap the Battery Tender from my TT battery to my lawn tractor battery every few weeks over the winter.

I have used battery tenders on my last three TTs (14 yrs) with great results. Be sure to get a "Battery Tender" or similar maintainer and not a simple trickle charger. Don't forget to drain outside shower if equipped and drain water from behind black and grey gate valves.

they recommend 35 - 40 lbs. with a max ( this is a extreme max ) of 50 lbs, to much pressure and you will blow up the plastic piping,,,,,,,,, if you buy a compressor make sure it has an adjustable regulator on it, I used mine and set it at 35 psi and it done a great job, one thing I did realize get help from someone who has winterized these things before, maybe ask a neighbor, you will have a better feeling about the job once it is done!

I've got a 2 gal hot dog type that goes to 125#. I tell the DW to open a faucet and then I give it the air. Once I start air flowing, the pressure drops VERY QUICKLY. Then I wait for it to pump up again; sometimes we have to blow out the same faucet a few times to get all the water out. Then move on to the next faucet. I've never had a problem.
So I wouldn't worry about the pressure, unless you've got something like a 30 gal, 3 HP compressor, OR you're going to put pressure on it and not open a faucet.

Blow out the Toilet
If you choose to blow out the lines, member to to flush the toilet several time while there is air pressure in the lines. The only time I had an issue was when the dealer blew out the lines for me and did not flush the toilet. The valve froze over the winter and had to be replaced.

I store the Shamrock at a secure storage facility, no electricity available. I pull the battery and store in the garage on a battery tender. It keeps the battery in top condition and also safe from thieves. Shame we have to worry about things like that.
Anode rod?...just finished 3rd season in the ikss and rod is about half used up
Also, don't forget to deter rodents. I use mothballs, some use dryer sheets, traps, etc. Point is , use something cause mice can destroy a camper.
