Thanks. I could not have bought the camper, negotiated the price, successfully completed, and documented, the PDI without this Forum. All systems worked great. Found one little ding on the back bumper, rather than have to cut the bumper off and replace, I'll live with it. And the new Furion backup camera they gave me for my trouble wasn't all bad either.

Cool. And nice set up.
I also got the camera. I had installed one on my highwall pop-up , so that became a must have (once you have one, you never want to go without ever again). I really like seeing behind me as I go down the road.

Nice! You will have a lot of fun in that rig. This forum is a great place to get tips and answers to your questions
I'm also a total newbie to the world of hybrids. After 20+ years in a popup I am picking up my 2017 Shamrock 23IKSS in a few hours. Totally excited to get it!!

Great to hear that you love it! We can't wait to get moving. Packing up all the goodies we collected over the past couple of weeks tomorrow. Memorial day weekend will be our official camp date, but I'll be testing and familiarizing myself with all systems in the driveway over the next two weeks. Once the loading and testing is done, we'll be hitting the road. Have a great summer all!

Enjoy it! I picked up our '16 Roo 223S back in March.
We are also totally new to hybrid/TT camping. We've spent 3 weekends in it so far. It's on a seasonal site approximately 45mins from our house.

We are looking into a seasonal site here in NY for next year, do you close up your unit every time you go home and not use it?

We have every other time. We couldn't close it one weekend due to weather being to rainy. We will close it up more often than not.

We are thinking about upgrading to a newer Explorer. How does yours pull your Roo? We currently have a 2003 Mountaineer and it does fine but she's seen her day!

the 233S has a 660 lb hitch weight and at 4786 lbs empty is almost at the 5000 lb towing capacity for the newer explorers. Not sure that is a good match for frequent towing. the V8 explorers prior to 2011 could do it.
You may want to consider the V8 Durango or Jeep Grand Cherokee - these have 7200 lbs tow capacity with a hitch rating of 750 lbs.

I love both my Explorer and 233S BUT I would not want to tow with this combo for long distances.
I've only towed the trailer a total of 40miles. I felt the vehicle was adequate but strained.
