Carbon monoxide
I just went to get something out of my brand new trailer. The carbon monoxide detector was going off. Everything is off in the trailer so why would it be going off? Defective?

If your battery is discharging it may set the detector off due to low voltage.

#1 reason- battery low due to parasitic power drains.
Did you use battery disconnect switch or have the trailer plugged into shore power?

Hi Dan. Unsure about the newest Roos with the disconnect at the battery. Our disconnect (the inside push-pull style) still allows power to the CO detector, which will discharge the battery over time.

Thanks for your help. We are brand new to trailer life. It's in storage and my husband is the one that took it there so I need to check with him to see what he did with the battery when he dropped it off.

I was under the impression that even the push pull switch stopped power to everything but the power jack.
My 2007 Roo didn't come with factory disconnect switch.

It's the battery - unplug one cable, the negative charge I believe (double-check which one).

If it was in storage, without shore power and you didn't use the disconnect switch, then that's why the battery was deadand tne CO alarmwent off.
If you continue to drain the battery down that much, the battery can be ruined.

The new disconnects are located near the jack.

I agree with bikendan...in my 2012 233s ROO the disconnect switch (located next to electrical panel below fridge - is a push/pull silver colored switch) will kill ALL 12V DC power to my rig.
Im probably over-killing it...but when I store, I get everything in place (elect tongue jack) and secure and right before I leave I use the disc sw to kill all 12 V power, then I remove my battery and bring it home. When I go to pick up the rig, I install the battery, restore 12V power with the disc sw and then go about my business....have yet to have any power problems doing this.
I also recall reading low power trips of the CO detector.

We went through 3 defective detectors that would show low voltage, when, infact it wasn't low at all....the 4th one did the trick...no more 4am wake up calls!!!
