Damage to bunk due to water leak.

I read with interest all of the posts to prevent leaks of the roo front bunk ( the main culprit). However, I thought I fixed my leaks only to now find that the base of the bed near the hinge is "mushy". I suspect that water damaged the bed. Can this be repaired? If the bed has to be replaced, can new beds be ordered from FR? If so, how much do these run?

Thanks. Do you know if it is safe to use the bed if there is signs of this softening of the core?

For those of us with the previous style latches (older more beefier ones)... what type adhesive pad can we put on those to increase the tension? Does FR use something special? I've had this concern of water leaks (non have happened), however, I would like to make sure I maintain a tight seal on the doors.

I have a spongy front bunk on a 2009 Roo 19 with about a foot of delamination. My temporary solution is to stop the leak using Pixleys method and add a 1/4" piece of plywood on the inside to prevent anyone from falling through. Someday I will replace the entire front bunk, but not this year.

I would be careful about how thick a pad you use. I don't think you would want anything much thicker than the original one from the factory. Too much pressure probably isn't good for the seal.

And we had one of our latches work loose from the back wall of the trailer. Probably not caused from too much pressure on the latch - I think it was an issue with how they mounted it at the factory. But, the same thing could happen - that extra force pushing on the door is also pulling on the 2 screws holding the latch to the wall of the trailer.

FR has a part # for the black rubber pads. Contact Sheri Dunlap at the factory with your VIN and she can send you what you need.
