Domestic Toilet Help

Hey all

Camping and have a bad Internet connection. I'm also having a toilet problem. My toilet ball will not open when you step on the flush pedal. Unfortunately I found this out after someone had used it.

What makes the toilet open when you step on the pedal and is it something I can fix while camping? I've checked the seal and it felt fine.

I've left it cracked open and have instructed the family only pee and no toilet paper until further notice.

Thanks

You might be able to fix it, but you're going to need some latex gloves and a strong stomach. Have someone hold a flashlight and you'll see better.
Manually open the valve and hold it open. Look down and you should see a lever that is connected to the foot control. Move the foot control by hand and you'll see it. The lever of the foot control should be connected to the lever on the valve. They can pull apart. Once you reconnect the two levers, you should be able to operate the foot pedal and have the vavle move. If either of these levers are broke, you'll have to replace it. They should be available seperately.
Good luck.

Had the latex gloves and only pee in there so no problem with the stomach. I tried looking and feeling around but could not find a lever that would attach to the foot pedal. Are there any diagrams online?

Thanks for the link but that was the same as the manual I have and it didn't reference the ball.

Here is the IPB for the toilet.

You may be able to fix this from the outside provided you have access to the lever without removing the toilet.

Thanks herk. I checked out your link but mine is a model 300.

I emailed Dometic and they sent me a new toilet. I got it today and looked inside from the bottom and there is no arm attached to the ball. I'm guessing it must attach directly to the foot pedal and that is where it's broken. I'll replace it when I get my Roo back.

Looks like you're not alone. This other thread has a couple of pictures that can show some parts opened up:
