Electric tongue jack not working

Gearing up to leave and electric hitch won't work. Power coming to it, light on it works, but it will not budge. Used hand crank and went on. Got to site and tried again, still nothing. Had another camp friend look at it as well. Used ohm meter and have power but it with no draw. Anyone ever have this too? 2016 21ss Rockwood roo. All fuses good, nothing else is affected.
Not sure what else to check or do besides replace.

As I remember, this issue has been reported here before and, in some cases, the problem turned out to be a bad ground. In the case of a tongue jack, the ground is established by the jack's connecting bolts to the tongue. Members have solved that issue by loosening one of the mounting bolts and re-tightening it followed by doing the same to the other 2-3 bolts.

To be technically correct, it's your electric tongue jack, not an electric hitch. Knowing that might help with your searches on the forum.

Thanks Mr. Dan. I did a search in the issues and found nothing in the forum. But I thought I had read on it before. We shall try that next.

Good. See my edited addition to my post: "To be technically correct, it's your electric tongue jack, not an electric hitch. Knowing that might help with your searches on the forum."

sometimes mine will stick in the full up position... often because a "helper" will not turn off the switch quickly when raising the tongue jack for travel... which then binds the jack... I can usually get it to work by putting downward pressure with my foot on the lower jack part while working the switch, OR by turning the manual nut to unbind it...

I had issues also, started chasing power with my meter and found I had a external fuse very close to jack, fuse continuity was good couldn’t figure it out then I looked at the fuse holder and found a little corrosion, a few swipes with some very fine sand paper followed by a light coat of dielectric took care of the problem. Good luck and safe travels.

A friend of mine had the same problem with his LCI electric jack - electric present but it appeared dead. He held the switch in and wiggled it side to side and it suddenly started working.
Apparently the switch contacts either corrode or arc easily which causes it to quit working.
Easy enough to try.

When I bought my Mini Lite, the tech ran the jack up a safe distance, then wrapped a piece of tape around and said never to run it up farther than the tape. The tape is still there after almost 4 years and jack works great.

That same thing happened to me last week as I was hooking up to bring the TT in to the shop for them to look at my skylight. The light came on but the tongue would not go up or down. I got it onto my TV using the hand crank. When they looked at it, at first they thought it would need to be replaced but then the tech put the hand crank on and then did a quick jerk counter clockwise - it started working. Apparently the last time I pulled it up, I over-raised it and it was jammed. Simple fix and I am back in business. I would never have thought to do that!

I have a 2015 233s, had the same problem. It would work intermittently. I pulled it apart, bad ground! Cleaned of the paint and made a good ground, now no problems.

My Roo sat lonely and covered for 15 months while we relocated to Richmond and the power jack didn't want to go one direction. Hosed the switch (it's a simple DPDT) with contact cleaner and all back to normal. I couldn't locate the hand crank but recalled the Equalizer WDH bars can be hand-installed when the trailer is jackknifed.

lectric tongue jack not working ( CON"T))

I to had problems with my new jack - found out it was the GROUND, loosened all 3 bolts cleaned the area and redesigned the wiring and took the power black wire and put a clamp on it and hooked it directly to the " Power command center " on the frame under the battery box.

I was having occasional problems with my Wolf. I was setting up late on night and notices sparks at the mounting bolts. I removed the tongue jack, cleaned up the area with fine sand paper, reinstalled, and spray painted. Now it works great.
