Things that can help save your investment:
1) Store in a building and if that isn't possible, use a cover. The sun is a killer on decals, plastics and fabric.
2) Clean and wax the rig once if not twice a year. Yes a lot of work but the more you do this, the less work it really is. I use a buffer which makes it a lot faster
3) I love 303 Aerospace Protectant. Use it on my rubber seals, decals, etc.
