Favorite place in MA or CT?
We will be picking up our new 21DK at the end of the month. Wondering if anyone has a favorite spot in MA or CT ? We can't wait to try it out!

Yes you are right - most are a little later but we hope to maybe find one that opens a little earlier

Mystic KOA as for as camping in CT is really good, they're opened year round, as for private and state parks, nothing really. Most of the parks don't have full hookups, very small sites, length restrictions, etc.
There is one place in MA we go to every now and then called Camp Overlow in Otis, it's on a lake but has more seasonal sites then anything else

Aces High RV Park, East Lyme, Connecticut is open year round... it is 15 minutes from the beaches of East Lyme CT.... real close to the casino as well... nice, clean place...

We are picking up our new Micro Lite 23FB this Saturday so I am also interested to hear some suggestions.
This is our first TT so we are hoping to do a lot of weekend getaways that are close by.
Friends of ours are going to Mystic KOA this weekend and I know we are booking some dates at Country Aire campground up in Charlmont MA.
It is a really nice place, close to Berkshire East mountain resort.
You can go rafting, MT biking, zip lining, lots of stuff all within 5-15 minutes from the campground.
We stayed at a cabin there last year.

Country Aire isn't far from us at all- a potential seasonal spot for us is that's the way we decide to go

If your looking to hook up to utilities, we are stuck for another few weeks. If you want to go off grid, check out the South West corner of Massachusetts. Around the Mount Washington area. There's a cluster of state parks out there and the views will stagger you. Bring your Solar kit.

It's a nice place to go with the kids, the place has everything. I am not sure if I would go with just the wife and I. The wife's family has a 4 day family trip there every year - about 7 sites in a row. To be honest I would never have gone there if not for that as we live in the next town over. I will say I like being 6 miles from home in case I forgot anything.
New England’s Luxury Camping Destination
Nestled deep in the woods between Boston & Cape Cod, Normandy Farms is a luxury camping destination that has been a family tradition since 1971 and widely recognized as one of the premier resorts in the world. Relax and enjoy the unique seasons of New England in your RV, tent, or in one of our deluxe cabin or YURT rentals.

don't let the price fool ya, We've stayed at a place that was 80 a night and even though their web site said, full hookups, we got there, the only sites with full hookups were seasonal, they put us on an uneven corner lot and told us to drain the gray tank on the ground and the honey wagon would come around on sunday. They really hyped the lake, but you couldn't swim in it, they said you could fish in it, but all we caught was seaweed and grass. Most of the CT CG's are over priced

I agree about entertainment for the kids but it's just the wife and I. The best bang for the buck would be central Maine away from coast.

my daughter played in a soccer tournament in Amherst NH last fall and we stayed in a little place in Ashby. I liked it a lot and they were putting on a pig roast and man oh man that was good stuff!

You get the true feel of the New England states off the beaten path away from the tourist traps

agree 100% but with 8,12 and 14 year old kids resorts win the day for us. We got into camping to save $$ on hotels which enables us to go on more trips and the kids want pools, bike parks, laser tag etc plus they want to be close to 6 flags or a similar place. I am pretty sure a trip to Lake George is in our future.

Our maiden Campground in CT is West Thompson Lake Campgound. It is operated by COE. But it doesn't open until May 20. For us it is a smidgen early because we haven't dewinterized yet. You just drive it on a variety of roads and then go home and camp in your driveway.
