Finally a fix for frameless window coming open

Hi.
We have a 2019 Roo 233s and have had a problem with the frameless window at the front passenger side coming open while driving down the road. When it does, it usually destroys the torque operator gear at the opening handle. I've had to replace mine 3 times now. I've searched the forums for a fix but have only come up with people using bunji cords or tape to try and keep the handle from vibrating open. This is a problem on many campers, not just on Roo's. I believe that the air passing by the front Awning strut causes a low pressure area behind it and tries to suck the window open.
Anyway I decided to find a fix and think I've got a good one that will last. I installed a Cam Handle lock ( Window hardware) on the outside to latch the window closed while traveling. Very simple to install. Just drilled 2 small holes below the bottom of the window and installed the lock using clear silicone on the screws and base. The window itself also helps shield it from rain. I drilled all the way through (only 1 1/4" thick wall) and put acorn nuts on the inside to give more strength than just using wood screws into the siding.

I got the Cam handle lock from SWISCO part # 38-065 $8.70

It is offset perfect to open and close and hold the window tight

If you need a new Hehr Tourqe operator you can get one from Pelland Enterprises part# H008-229 -Large $47.04 + handling.

I have heard that shutting the roof vents helps prevent this. Not sure if that is true.

When I bought my trailer (used) the operator was broken and the PO had the window taped shut. I replaced the torque operator and haven't had any issues since and I do try to make sure I shut the roof vents before driving.

Looking forward to the answer but I'm confused (which is pretty normal! ).

Assuming a standard rear facing roof vent having it open on the road will suck air out of the camper creating a slight interior vacuum which should help the window stay shut. Front facing vent would pressurize the interior but is unlikely to last long as the wind rips it off the roof.

This same vacuum sucks in air from all the cracks and crevasses many of which are on the bottom of the camper and will pull in road dirt much of which is rust dust off vehicles.

Close the roof vents on the road.
