First trip....excellent!

We took our Roo 233s on her first trip over mother's day weekend. We were fortunate to get a free camping weekend with the purchase of our camper. Not the greatest site (not a fan of camping on asphalt) but it was perfect for shakedown cruise. Overall, it was excellent. We even slept well. Only downside was being eaten by bugs during cleanup.

All systems checked out fine with the exception of a few interesting hiccups...mostly cockpit error. First, I could not get hot water out of the faucets even though the there was water in the tank and heater had done its thing. Turns out, I forgot to close the third (middle) bypass valve....so cold water was mixing with hot. Once the light bulb went off on that one, we were in business. Second interesting event was when we tested the air conditioning. There was so much styrofoam in the ducts, we had a mini snow storm inside.

We still have some tuning to do on our outside set up....but that will come with a few more trips.

Overall excellent trip...we even met some new friends that were on their shakedown trip as well. Looking forward to trip number 2 in a few months.

Great that you had a 1st time out & went through learning experiences as you do this. There will be more. It's nice to see trees with leaves on. Been so cool & wet here that plant growth is a little late.

Congrats on the successful first trip! We had our shakedown trip last weekend as well. Styrofoam snowstorm... had that. Also smoked up the camper with the oven's first use. Crazy spring weather - had to use AC during the day & heat (LP) at night on Friday. lol Both systems OK. We followed a tip from the boards and brought a ceramic heater (with digital thermostat) from home on Sat (we were only 20 min away). It worked like a charm & saves propane, though it was warmer Sat night.
Congrats again on the maiden voyage. We're goin' again in two weeks - can't wait.
