Flying ant infestation

We haven't used our 23IKSS since June and just found a huge infestation of tiny flying ants. Eggs almost 1 inch deep in storage compartment under front dinette seat. Cleaned them out and have put traps in. I think they have a nest between the floor and the bottom of the cabinet above the dinette. I have been finding dead ants on the table and the window shade mount every day. Its been over a week. Can the floor of the cabinet be easily removed so I can get to the nest? If I can't get rid of them camping season will have to wait a few more weeks.

Maybe drill a few small holes (like 1/16" or1/32") and shoot some ant poison down there. Use a plastic tube (like on the WD40 cans). Afterward you could epoxy the holes closed.
I'd only do this if you are sure the "nest" is there.

This may be indicative of another problem; wood rot.

Agree. especially if there is some moisture (leak) in the area.

many flying ants are actually termites...

these cabinets in the Roos are usually held together with staples and are made with light lumber and 1/4" plywood... pry them apart with a couple of large screwdrivers...
it should not be hard to tear out the bottom or a side to have a look

or find someone that owns an inspection camera... a long thin camera to look in there first

a mechanic friend may have one, you may be able to rent one a tool rental place...

Or you could just go all-out and get one of these:

We haven’t had flying ants but we have used this formula successfully for 2 types of ants. It worked for ghost ants in Florida when the exterminator failed to get rid of them. I think the concept would work since the ants bring the “bait” back to the nest. Once the ants disappear we remade the solution about 2 weeks later in case there were new hatches and to get the stragglers.

Good luck!

Best ant killer: optiguard
They only like it when it's fresh from the tube.
