Question Folding up the bunks on 2018 Roo 233s

Dealer showed us and said the mattresses need to be pulled off before folding them up. It just doesn't seem right to have 3 mattresses on the floor of the Roo while traveling, Is this correct?

We only take the beds out if put up in rain, moisture does get stuck in there.

Bet dealer didn't tell you the fan trick, either.

Close up all windows and doors, start bathroom vent fan. It will suck in the bunk canvas and the bunk door as you close it up.

Dealer obviously knows little about hybrids.

As mentioned above, unless something has changed, no need to remove the mattress. There should be a fold point indentation running down the length of the mattress. Take the tent support poles (Sheppard’s poles) separate into 2 pieces lay in the bed fold the mattress over them and your good to go.

I have a 2015 but the beds stay in the bunks. Bunk ends should fold up "easy". No need to force them shut. Occasionally I need to go back in to move one a little if the bunk ends fell like they don't want to shut.

I doubt the 2018 is much different. There may be a YouTube vid on one.

Happy Camping!

Here's a video.

My Roo 19 had a couple snaps at the far end of the bunk door that the mattress snapped on to so it wouldn't drop away from the door when you closed it.

Just realized this will NOT work with our Roo. Our canvas is not attached like the newer models. Only at the top. We have to manually pull it in prior to raising the bunks. Bungy cords extend under the frame along with snaps on the outer underside.

Yeah, won't work on the older models.

This is the way we are doing it. Wishing it was easier to push up and in. I'm only 5'8" and walking around the sides alone isn't easy. Back goes up more smoothly than the front. Thanks though.

Hello,

I had several trips to my camper dealer during the warranty period for my 2017.5 233S due to water getting into the forward and side bunk ends. They replaced two beds because of water damage and did everything they could do to keep the rain from getting in. I even added gutters above the bunk doors. I ended up taking the beds out of the bunks and stowing them stacked up on the collapsed table in the slide. We haven't had water in the bunks since. I have a feeling that the beds were putting a little pressure on the bunk doors preventing them from closing fully. Stowing the beds this way is kind of a pain. but I know they wont get water damage again. Note: because of the extra weight of the mattresses on the slide, I leave slide retracted until I get the bedding back into the bunks.
Also, I have never had an issue during travel, folded up the beds kinda lock into each other so they don't move around at all.
We can't wait for camping season to roll around again.
Happy Camping

A couple years ago, my family did a 9k mile cross country trip in our 233s. The fan trice made it so easy to close by myself, it freed daughters up to help mom

Same here. Mattress folds up in the bunk end and will stay while traveling.
