Fresh Water Tank Pipe Fitting

When trying to unscrew the freshwater drain plug, the whole male to male fitting the plug was screw to came out of the tank. What do you guys recommend I use to hold it back in place in the tank? It appeared as if there was some type of glue or silicone to hold it in place from the factory but unsure.

That stuff is just a lube. Most of us pipe it out to the side of the camper and install a valve so you don't have to crawl underneath every time to drain the tank.
