Front bike rack help

Hello,

We have a 2020 Shamrock 233s and are totally perplexed about how to bring our bikes. We don't want a rear bumper rack for the many reasons already discussed in these forums. Our front bed when down is less than 26 inches (25 -25.5 depending how you measure) from the trailer a frame. We have a power jack and I purchased a jack-it but it wont work. The tower is about 1/2 inch too high to fold the bed down.

I understand/expect I'll have to take the rack partially apart to get the front bed down but I can't find anything that seems like it would work without taking the entire rack off the a frame completely. Even the up n front seems like i would have to take the mast off to get the bed down.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a rack that would work with such a low bed?

Thanks!

Many hybrid owners have mounted fork blocks on the reverse side of the dinette booth plywood covers.
There are a number of threads here abot the mod.

Thank you, I think that may be what we are stuck with but I would really prefer to keep them outside the trailer if at all possible.

They make front receiver hitches for most trucks.

Maybe this will work for you.

If you have a truck without a cap you can mount a roof rack over the bed. The attachment to the truck depends on vintage and brand. We carry 3 bikes with us that way and are still able to use the tonneau cover.

We ran into these same questions and decided to have a receiver hitch welded to the frame of our ‘19 24WS. Pulling bikes in and out of the front door sucks and gets the “dirty” on your dinette.

Your call, but that was our decision. Works great!!!

Look at post 61, this is what we do with our bikes. It is a little pain but works well with several trips. I put carboard on the table and surrounding and stack three bikes there and 2 in the back between the bunks and the bathroom wall. doesn't look pretty but works.

I solved this problem by having a welder cut my rack about 8 inches from the bottom and removed about 18 inches of it which was replaced by an equal amount of angle iron in such a fashion that one piece fit over another. Then one bolt was added to each side of the jack it. The end result was that the bike rack when in use is the original height, but can easily be removed at the 8 inch height from the bottom

Thanks all! I really like the idea of modifying the Jack it stand. Maybe I'll have to look into that!
