One of the reasons I put the awning out is so I can grill in the rain!
On my 5th wheel the awning is around 10+ feet in the air so even a flare up is no harm.
I wonder If this warning sticker is only on the tag-a-long trailers that have a lower roof line, making the awning lower and closer to the grill?
Any 5th wheels out there with the sticker?

Does seem an extreme example of the category of warning stickers I call "Silly".

That one doesn't even make sense so I'd hope it was fake.
My comments are for the sticker in Post #10.

doesn't matter if it is real or not, where there are a zillion stickers with similar warnings stuck all over the place. If the sticker truly had some information to provide I left it, if it was a warning about being stupid, I removed it.

Unfortunately many consumers do not have the same level knowledge that most participants in this forum have. Just this past week somebody died in Florida from CO poisoning due to running a generator in an under-ventilated space. I find excess warnings annoying, too, but if it prevents somebody from dying, I can't object too much.

The only problem I've ever had using the grill under the awning is that, almost 100% of the time, I forget to close the window to the trailer. Smoke drifts inside and sets off the smoke alarm.

I've never retracted the awning when using the grill. Also am now using my Weber Q hooked up to the quick disconnect. Works flawlessly.

When grilling, usually there is alcohol involved ,in my case anyway .......... that being said, I really don't want a heat source that close to my camper. A lot of good examples have already been stated both for and against. If I'm using my Coleman stove or Q-grill its under a "First Up" canopy. Charcoal grill is away from every thing and close to the fire pit,

For some reason I can envision someone hanging their BBQ grill on the side of their trailer, firing it up, and putting on a roast or large bird. Lower the cover, bungee cord the handle down, and start driving down the road thinking that dinner would be ready when they get to the campground.
A very thick book, or an entire collection, could be written on dumb things people do. Even the so called "smart" people.
Just one small example, how many people do you know that have driven out from under their 5-er with tailgate up but kingpin not locked? Ditto for those with "pull behind" and not checking to see if hitch pin is in place with safety clip installed.
Now that could be a fun thread, "Things that happened with my RV because my head was somewhere else" ( the cleaned up version of what I was thinking )
