help pipes are frozen

I went to winterize my 21ss and the pipes had frozen. I have turned heat on and used an electric heater as well to get the pump thawed out. I had to do the same with the hot water heater as the valves wouldn't close. Once they thawed I bypassed the water heater and drained the heater of the remaining water. I have pumped 4 gallons of antifreeze through the system but I do not get anything out of any of the faucets or showers. Any suggestions? It has t even been that cold here in Connecticut. Thanks

How did you pump 4 gals in ? Your plex lines couldn't hold 4 gals. It has to have gone somewhere, Did you check your lines for any breaks? Might all be sitting in your under belly. I hope not...Good luck.

Sounds like you still have ice blockage . Where did 4 gallons go. Did any run out on the ground?? or were the valves really closed to the hot water heater?? No huge deal if it went into the hot water heater until later more flushing in the spring. If it did the hot water heater holds probably 6 gallons depending on what you have. Our trailer is 36' & take less than 2 gallons to have pink running out of all the faucets. Do not forget the toilet.

Good Luck

I was doing it last night in the dark but I couldn't find any leaks. If you turn the pump on you can hear the water near the hot water heater.

I was finally able to get a little pink out of kitchen faucet and the outside shower as well. The anadode is out of hot water heater so if it wasn't bypassed it would run out of it correct?

Yes, if you have the anode out and anything runs in there (AF or water) it should be flowing out the hole (if the trailer is level.) So the question remains--where did the 4 gallons of AF go? If it didn't come out of any of the faucets, shower head(s,) ice maker (if you have one,) or toilet, you have a leak somewhere (possibly open low point drains?) or a cracked pipe from the ice.

Are you sure the pump actually sucked out the jugs of AF? (I know, stupid question.) Just because you hear the pump running doesn't mean its actually sucking, especially if its blocked with ice...

All set! I put an electric heater near hit water heater and then got another gallon of antifreeze. There must have still been blockage. Thanks

OK, that's great...but it still doesn't explain where that first 4 gallons of AF went...you don't see any AF leaking anywhere that it shouldn't be?

It was probably a little less than that because I filled the filter housing and it was cracked so I had to buy a new one. Even still seems like a lot but I don't see any leaks anywhere. Fingers crossed!

Did you put the 4 gallons in the fresh water tank and then used the pump or if you have an external winterizing connection used that?

I remove the fresh water line to pump and attach a house and fitting and put the other end in antifreeze jug.
