How to remove iRV entertainment center

I want to connect a HDMI cable to the back port on my iRV entertainment center. How do you remove the unit from the cabinet?

Thank you.

There are two black covers on each side of the unit that cover the screw holes. Remove those (should pull off or you can carefully use a small flat screwdriver to lift them off). Once removed, you'll find six screw holes, three on each side. Mine only has 4 screws. Remove the screws and then carefully pull the unit straight out of the cabinet.
You may want a second person to plug in the hdmi cord, because the factory wires aren't long enough to set the unit down while it's still connected up.

You're welcome. I've removed mine about a dozen times. Fixed the factory wiring, added an hdmi cable, added speakers, etc...

Good luck

Just saw that you're from Troy. I grew up there (lived in a sub off 19 between John R and Dequindre).

Small world! I live in the sub south of Maple and east of John R.

I popped the top corner of the side panel before posting the question but was not sure if it snspped back in as solidly as it seemed to be before I popped it out.

What type and brand of speakers did you add? Did you use the IRV factory unit or install another brand?

Here's a link to a thread with pics.

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...d.php?t=133628

I replaced the factory pair with 4 Polk low profile speakers, but kept the mediocre iRV unit. The new speakers (even though they are very low profile) didn't quite fit in the available depth, so I had to use collars to increase the mounting depth.

They sound MUCH better than the factory speakers. I also rewired the zones so I have a front zone and a rear zone. That way, my wife and I can have good audio in the front bunk while the kids sleep in the back/side.

You may be surprised when you look at the back of the radio...there may not be an HDMI port, like in my 2015 unit.
I was upgrading the TV, which only had HDMI and no analog in, so I had to get this:

When selecting inputs one of the options presented are 'Rear HDMI'.

Mini RCA/AV/CVBS Composite Analog to Digital HDMI Converter Adapter 720P/1020P | eBay
That is a great upscale mini-box to have!!! I'll be ordering one today.
Thank you!

Yours is a different brand (Genesis).
This is the iRV model that we've been discussing.

I'm not familiar with Genesis, but will check it out. I think they have different models to choose from.

FYI, there are actually two HDMI ports on the back of the unit (this particular model). One is an input and the other is an output. The HDMI on the front is an input.

iRV has other models that have different inputs/outputs
