The 3x5 rectangular tube fits nicely against the inner channel of the frame, which is "beefed" up with a .125 X 5 x 18 plate on the outer side of the frame. I used a structural adhesive to bond the plate to the 23IKSS Roo frame, but since I bolted the whole thing together with 7 ea 7/16 bolts per side, that was probably overkill. I be towing a 16' fishing boat from south Texas to northern Minnesota in a few days and have the confidence of a crazy fool that my trip will be uneventful. I have numerous very connected people praying of me and my Saint Christopher riding shotgun, so smooth sailing is assured.

Oh almost forgot, here's the hitch. Paid about $115 online with free shipping at ruralking.com.

Have you checked the state laws for all the states you'll be in and passing through to make sure that double towing is legal there? May states don't allow it.

Might want to start here: RVSafely.com

Yes; most are 75' a couple are 65'. I'm around 63' so I'll be legal. I did a similar tow to NW Ontario a few years back and it was a good trip. The difference was we were pulling the boat behind a 26' fifth wheel.

Well, I picked up the trailer today from the welder. He did a great job, it was a little bit different than what I wanted but I think it will suffice.

I also had my first goof. I totally forgot about my sewer hose being in the bumper. Well I lost one length. The funny thing is I thought about taking it out be fore I dropped it off. Oh well lesson learned.

Well the trip went off without a "hitch".
thanks to Rockfordroo for the heads up on triple towing regs, as I had missed the part in the Minnesota regs that specify triple towing with a fifth wheel only. My sisters boyfriend met me in Wahpeton ND to pick up the boat for the last 2 hrs of the trip. Been camping for almost a month straight now and the only issue is the GFCI outlet breaker tripped a few times during rain storms when running coffee pot and electric heater. I must say, I love the 23IKSS.
