Island change in 2015.5 23IKSS

We went to the Charlotte RV show last night and there was a new 2015.5 23IKSS. It had the sapphire package and I noticed a few other differences from our 2015 IKSS (manufactured June 2014). The stereo system was different and there was a new fridge too. The one thing that really jumped out at me was the change to the island cabinet.

There are no doors on the dinette side and the cabinet is thinner. Seems like a lot of storage space was lost. Maybe the idea was to make it easier to sit at with a bar stool.

One 5'r we went in had some LED lights under the lip of the counters. It was a pretty neat effect. Might be a future mod.

Overall, the show make me realize that we made a great choice purchasing our Shamrock last summer. I really didn't see anything at the show that would be a better fit for us and where we are in life right now. It was also interesting that the "show pricing" was nothing special at all. We got a much better deal from our dealer last summer.

DK....what was their show price? I also bought the 2015 23IKSS last year and got a great deal. I am too glad I made the purchase before they changed those items. I love the island storage with the doors. I haven't even filled it up yet. What was different about the refrigerator? The only thing I didn't really like were the mattresses, but do plan on buying the mattress topper.

The show price on the 23IKSS was $24,999. It seemed that across the board, pricing was higher than I expected. We paid a lot less than that for ours from our local dealer last summer.

I wonder if that price included all of the options? I paid just over $19,000 for mine and got everything but the slide cover. I was able to get my dealer to match RV Directs invoice.

It seemed to have most of the popular options and I think the original price was $29500ish with the show price being just under $25k. List on ours was around the same $29500 vicinity but we paid $21000 and it included a wdh, and $300 credit to spend in the dealers RV store.

a MSRP of nearly $30k for a hybrid!!!
that's just crazy.
we paid $14,500 for our new 2007 23SS. hybrids can't cost double in just 8 years.

Did they make the overall island narrower, perhaps to make access to bathroom when closed?

I don't think so. The countertop looked to be the same size but the cabinet below was narrower. The only two reasons that come to mind are 1) to make it easier to sit at with a stool or 2) give the cabinet more room on both sides when the slides are closed. On ours, the oven handle touches the cabinet on one side and the dinette table touches the cabinet on the other. Someone on here had a loose island - possibly from getting pushed by the slides.

I would also note that this unit is not really set up for turtling if you have the air mattress option with the island kitchen sandwiched in btwn the two slides as DK-in-SC mentioned.
