My bed ends don't leak! But.....

history - 2018 ROO 21SS Bought new in December but I am assuming it was a show model and may have been towed to several shows as well as evident from some of the wear.
I have searched but have only found issues with the bed end gaskets leaking, well mine seal so well that they don't leak but when I open them I have to push from the inside. I have cleaned them and this has not helped.
Yesterday I opened the trailer after being closed for two weeks to do some maintenance and had to fight hard to get the bed ends open.
Pictures below will show you what happened...
I really didn't think that 1 year old gaskets would do this? Is there something I am missing?
I did clean the gaskets again and scrapped the gasket material from the metal bed ends. I wiped the gaskets down with a rubber gasket protectant and waxed the metal bed ends.
Not sure what else I can do beside order new gasket and replace the damaged portions.

Try dusting the seals with some baby powder if sticking is what you're experiencing. Good on your pop out windows too. Especially since leaking water wasn't your issue

Agree, wouldn't think you should have an issue with the gasket sticking like that on a newer trailer. If it's still under warranty might be worth letting them replace on FR dime. Good your not having any leaks.

On mine the front bunk leaked a little amount of water at the top of seal every time it rained. Finally found out about adjusting the latches and tightened them down and haven't had an issue since.

I have treated all my seals with 303 protectant also.

Best of luck!

Should be using Aerospace 303, instead of that stuff.

Someone put something on the gasket or the bunk ends that caused them to be sticky... also happens if camping in a pine forest with sap in the air. Seals need to be wiped with 303 often.

If you are not leaking, then just go from here forward.

So far the waxing of the metal portion of the bed end and the rubber seal treatment seem to be working. She was closed up for 12 days in 90* heat and she opened without issue this weekend.
Obviously I still intend to have the gaskets replaced under warranty at which point I plan to start using the 303 from new (thanks for clarifying which 303 product) but I am going to wait until the end of the camping season to take her in. I have a call in to CW and if they offer to just mail me the seals I don't have a problem installing them....I'll also add the discolored handles to my request even though I hear the replacements will discolor fast enough...
