Need 23 IKSS tongue measurements

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I need a little information that I haven't been able to find. I apologize if my question has been answered in the forums before. I've been unable to find it so far.

My wife and I have a 2018 Roo 23 IKSS on order. We're very excited for it. We have a 2005 Flagstaff high-wall pop-up and this will be a big step up for us. I've been researching weight distribution hitches as I can't use the hitch I have for my pop-up. I've settled on the Reese Steadi-flex. The Equalizer is a close second.

What I need to know is if there is anything on the tongue that will interfere with the mounting brackets for support of the spring arms of the hitch. Basically, from the center of the coupling (ball) to the 27"-32" range back on the tongue; is there anything mounted here that won't allow the bracket to mount around the tongue frame? The brackets need to mount somewhere within that 5" range. Once I know for sure about clearances then I'll be able to order a hitch. The dealer didn't have any measurements for me and none on the lot to measure.

If anyone could take a minute to measure the tongue and let me know, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I just measured the tongue on my 2017 IKSS and it looks like anything from 28 1/2 to 32 is clear. Short of 28 1/2, the propane tank cover would be in the way. I have the brackets at 31 for my Equalizer 1000/10,000 which basically centers the brackets between the propane cover and the battery box.

Thank you!! I feel confident ordering the hitch now, and especially since you are using one of the hitches I'm looking at. Now I know it'll work for sure. I really appreciate the quick reply. Can't wait for the new unit!

You're welcome, I'm sure you're going to love your new trailer. We made a similar jump from a Fleetwood Highwall pop up to the 23IKSS. It's really a terrific, extremely versatile trailer that tows small, but opens up big. I was also pleasantly surprised with the quality and fit/finish.

In two seasons we have already done a ton of camping in it and have used it in multiple ways: both bunks deployed and both slides out (most common of course), but also with only one bunk out, fully turtled, only one slide out, full hookups, no hookups, etc. based on our situation.

It will fit on just about any site. I've booked it on sites approved for only 20' and we were ok. It's 25' tongue to bumper and almost 30' opened up. On really short sites we can usually overhang the back of the parking area, and the fact that the front bunk opens over the tongue makes the most of it's footprint. One time we had to utilize 4 of us to rotate the trailer by hand a couple of inches after we had already unhitched and set up. This allowed us to just barely deploy the back bunk right next to a tree. Good times.
