new 2014 shamrock 23ikss question anout wdh

My wife and I are new to the forum and we just purchased our brand new 2014 shamrock 23ikss. When negotiating with the dealer I worked in a 4 point equalizer wdh with it. (Pulling with 07 tahoe so with short wheel base and a tad longer trailer I wanted the security of a little more sway control.) They however installed the e2 which is a 2 point wdh. When confronted the dealer said I did not need the 4 point and it was toi much for the trailer. Anyone towed with the 4 point? How about the e2 and how did it Do?

I'd stick with my guns an insist on the full Equalizer hitch. Haven't used an e2, but love the handling with the Equalizer.

yep, definitely insist on the 4-point. you'll need that with the Tahoe.
i have a similar sized 23SS and i wouldn't use the E2 with my longer Avalanche. i have the 1000/10000 4 point Equalizer and absolutely love it.

the dealer is just trying to cheapen the deal and BS you about too much WDH. the E2 is made in China and is much cheaper for him to buy, while the 4-point is heavier duty and made in the U.S., plus it'll help more with the shorter wheelbase Tahoe.

I pulled a 23ss a few years ago with a Yukon XL Denali and had the 4 pt Equalizer and there were times in strong winds when that was even uncomfortable. Don't let them talk you out of it!

I stuck to my guns and got the 4 point Equalizer hitch today. This morning while towing the 23IKSS over to the dealership it got really windy (20-30 mph gusts) and was white knuckled a few times. After the 4 Point Equalizer was installed with the same wind, i was a lot more in control and didn't feel it. Thanks for the words of advice.
