New Roo/Shamrock floor plans

Hey folks- I just happened to catch the dealer we bought from broadcasting live this afternoon from Indiana at the dealer show - and thought you might enjoy. At about minute 12:45, they start showing off two new Roo/Shamrock floorplans - the 23FL and the 23BDS. Lots of others, too (cool new GeoPro w/a tent bed end!). :-)

Man, you could hold a square dance in that 23FL!

Toured one at the Hershey show. It is bigger than the video makes it look!
Nice, but too big for us. DW points out it opens up so much you'd need to take care parking it in a lot of sites we stayed in this past summer.

That 23fl is awesome. Just one side super slide makes a 21ss feel huge inside I can't imagine another 3' wide.

Looks like they've taken it down. I don't blame them. Those two guys looked like a couple of ya-hoos!

2018 FOREST RIVER ROCKWOOD ROO 23RB

2018 FOREST RIVER ROCKWOOD ROO 23FL

Here's a couple links with pictures. Interesting new options. The 23 FL essentially uses the same 2 slides as the 23IKSS, but on the opposite sides. Seems like they got that backwards, since now you have the bigger slide under the awning. Lots of interior space though if you only need one bed.

The 23RB is also a little odd with the bank bunk "door" (access hatch??) opening into the bathroom. Tiny kitchen space, but a lot of living area.

I wonder if some other plans, like the 21SS might get dropped, or if these are just additional choices?

I'll put my $2 down now that the 23RB doesn't last more than 2 years. Who wants to go through the bathroom to get to the bunk?

FR has came out with bad floor plans before.
One of note, was a 19' hybrid with a rear patio deck. Even had a white plastic fence around it.
Only was around for a couple of years.
Think it was the 19RD.

Update:
Found it, it's the 183RD. I was wrong about a plastic fence, it's probably aluminum.
Here's a walkthrough video of a Shamrock version:

Going through the bathroom to get to the bunk is very odd. The idea of a hard door on the bunk for privacy is very interesting though it is more there for bathroom privacy than bedroom privacy.

The 23fl needs a front drop down bed as well as the rear. For a big family you would be able to sleep 10 with a few on the floor on some air beds in addition to holding that square dance.

So - I don't know why - but it had been bothering me that I didn't notice the "bunk access through the bath" when I watched the video w/the new floorplans, and you're right - that's a CRAZY thing to do. So I was curious today - the two new floorplans I'm seeing are the 23FL and the 23BDS - nothing about a 23RB. On that link you shared, that's definitely what they called it - but it's definitely not the same unit in the video or on the FR site. And it doesn't even look like a Roo shower in those pictures.

So that 23RB they're advertising in that Michigan dealership is a bit of a mystery - is it possible they built a unit wrong at some point & tried to "salvage" it by making something unique? Looks like a science experiment gone wrong...

Something strange going on with what dealers are calling the 23FL floorplan. Some show the floorplan having the front picture window and only a single bunk end, while others show the floorplan with traditional double bunk ends and a corner kitchen.

Forest River has updated their website and they show the "23FL" with the 2 bunk ends and corner kitchen. In any case be aware of which "23FL" you are really looking at.

Here is a link to the double bunk end/corner kitchen floorplan. BTW, this is the floorplan that was shown at the OP's RV show. 2018 Forest River ROCKWOOD ROO 23FL Front Living/ sale at Best RV Center 230564

That is weird, I wonder what that A&S RV center one is? Certainly not a 23FL but there is nothing like it on the forest river floorplans. It seems like they got a one off 23FL without a front bed and with that frontcap off a Rockwood ultralight.

23FL Floorplan UPDATE

So I checked with A&S RV about the "23FL" model they have that has the picture window front end and only a single bunk end at the rear. It was a Forest River 2018 prototype and only a few were released.

Here is quote from A&S, "The one we have at our dealership is the prototype which is slightly different than the the actual 23FL. The prototype has only one bed that pulls out and is priced considerably less. The 23 FL will have 2 pull out beds (expandable beds). Sorry for the confusion."

Couple dealers were able to pick them up. A&S has a very nice price on their's. They shared the Dealer's Invoice (~$23k). The factory label with weights and VIN indicate the model as a 23WS, which it is not either, so lots of weird stuff with these prototypes.

It is an interesting floorplan none the less. If interested, contact Denice Penszynski, A & S RV Center, 2375 N. Opdyke Rd., Auburn Hills, MI 48326
586-206-8815-cell. She is ready to deal on it.

Thanks for solving that mystery. Now we need to get the story on that 23RB with the "escape hatch" through the bathroom into the rear bunk. Maybe that was a prototype as well??

That's kinda cool! And that 23FL (or whatever it is) prototype may not be everyone's cup of tea, but surely it's someone's - and how cool to have a unique/one-of-a-kind floorplan! Although, methinks they should hold out on pricing that one & get a decent amount for it to make up for the killing they're going to take on that one w/the bunk door access through the bathroom, lol. Who's gonna want that?! ;-)

The fireplace and rising TV in that prototype along with the double slide is certainly nicer than our 2017 Palomino 190x which is the same as a Roo 21ss. We paid just a bit under $21k so I think that's a great deal. We just need more beds.
