Ontario to Banff Next Summer

Planning our first big road trip with our IKSS. Lived in it for 59 days this summer.

We will be travelling from Southern Ontario to Banff, Alberta.

What routes have been taken, good and bad?

I had to drive to Edmonton for work a few years back. Had a 5 ton and a utility trailer. Driving through Ontario was amazing. We took hwy17 through Ontario. Try and book a night or two in superior provincial park. It looks beautiful. After we went through Winnipeg we took 16. You're gonna want to stay on 1. The prairies are a little tough but after that you're laughing.

We have looked at that route, but have also considered a route south of Lake Superior from Mackinaw City to Duluth, MN and then north to Winnipeg.

I've never been that way. But from what I've heard. Nothing beats the view of northern Ontario. Just my 2 cents.
