On the Jensen stereo you can adjust the balance between inside and out with the fade adjustment. Push in the knob on the right opposite the volume to find it.

Man that looks huge inside, be sure to post a weight if you get a chance to hit the scales, were car shopping and the one we want it going to be close.

I have 6000lbs to play with and keeps me under the GCWR so I may have to just go on the light side when traveling.

Talonman,

We were on our way home yesterday and stopped at a CAT Scale. I wanted to see where our actual weight was. We had a pretty typical load - maybe a few pounds lighter than normal since we didn't have a week's worth of food in the tt or any fire wood in the truck, but I think we were pretty close to what we normally travel with (propane 1/2 full, no water). The trailer axles came in at 5200 lbs even. I didn't do a full weighing procedure - needed to get back on the road, but based on my truck weight last trip to the landfill, I estimated the tongue weight was between 600 and 700 lbs.

GVWR of the 21IKSS is just over 6400, so we were good there and the truck is rated to tow 7,300 so no issue with that or the CVWR. I thought maybe we would be close on the rear axle. Actually the front and rear were just about equal, but we are right at the GVWR for the truck. We sometimes have the kayak rack and 3 kayaks which adds almost 250 lbs, so I might try to shift some weight around and get a little more onto the trailer axles, but I was glad to get real numbers and know exactly what is going on.

The 23IKSS has a ton of storage, and we have used a lot of it, but still right about 6,000 lbs. Nothing would be worse than having lots of storage and not being able to use it because the trailer can't handle the weight...

Kevin

Thanks guys.

Short of the story is X5 35D, rated to tow 6000 and has a GCVW of about 11000 and a curb weight of about 5000, so I will be right at the limit and will have to travel lite. I know it will pull it and many others have pulled more but that does not make it a good idea, the engine makes 275HP and 425ftlbs so plenty of jam and brakes are typical German brakes, big.

I know the answer but I may still do it and see how it does, the Denali will do the job just fine as a back up.

I can't wait to get one of these monster 23IKS's

Looks greAt! Is that the cherry cabinets? DW wants to look at one but the one two on the west coast are 800 miles away. Looking at the shamrock too for the dark grey interior. Might just have to buy unseen.

Yes hondaman, cherry cabinets. They were a little darker then expected but we like. Let me know if there's any other pics you would like to see...have plenty of them or could easily take of whatever you want.

Cool-and thanks. We are really trying to get an idea on how much space there is inside. Seen a lot of pics on Internet of inside but they all look like someone is standing in the middle of the TT. Take what you think looks good and PM me.

Thanks again

I have mine set up in the driveway now getting ready for a trip. The floor space is so much more than most campers. It was one of the many reasons that we chose the IKSS - plenty of room for the kids to play on the floor. We use the right drawer beneath the dinette as the "toy box" and it works out great! I don't know if you have little ones, but it would also be great for a dog bed if you bring your pet camping. I really don't think that you can go wrong with this camper as long as you have the right tow vehicle.

Congrats!
Looks just like ours, the only thing we didn't get were the LED lights on the Awning. But where are the two large drawers located? To the left of the stove/oven on ours is a big space, we filled with plastic drawers that DW wanted to have.
BTW, the change seems to have happen in the April timeframe, we ordered ours in March and when it showed up in mid April we got the 2014 version.

Where you have the plastic drawers, we have 2 large "pots and pans" drawers behind cabinet doors.

Wow, that would be nice, maybe we could get those installed. Although we have all our pots and pans in the island. DW was initially disappointed with the lack of drawers, all the models we saw before we ordered it had them as well as the Rockwood catalogue. But we loved everything else we decided it wasn't a big deal.

Yes coming from a pop up my wife was so excited to have the 3 silverware drawers so was disappointing for us as well. After using 1 time we actually have come to like the large drawers. All the silverware and utensils fit in the top drawer, pots and Pans in the bottom. Left the island open for us for small appliances, toasters, etc!

If your cabinet is constructed the same way as ours it would be very easy to retrofit it with the large roll outs. Home depot or lowes may even have pre made drawers that would fit.

Loading up to camp for our fourth weekend in a row! Loving the new camper!
