Pricing-2021 Rockwood Roo 235S or Similar

Hey everyone. Looking to purchase my first travel trailer for the family. I'm curious what people are paying for the Rockwood Roo 235S or similar model campers? After all the negotiating is done, of course.
Thanks

After a lot of searching and driving out of state for pick up - we were able to find a new 2021 Shamrock 21SS last month and snagged it for around $23500 which I felt was a hell of a deal. I believe this one is cheaper than the one you're looking at, but should give you a good idea of where you can end up.

cjoseph, welcome to the forum from just east of Toronto, Canada.

Before COVID hit, you could demand a discount of 30% off the MSRP but now RV sales have gone crazy and dealers are having trouble keeping inventory so you may not be able to get such a good deal. Many are predicting that the used RV market will be flooded with great deals about a year or two after the pandemic is over.

My advice is this. Unless your local dealer has a great reputation for after-sales service, don’t be afraid to buy out of state to get the best price. Some forum members have driven 2000 miles to get the best price. Just account for the cost of the trip in your calculations. The closer you get to Indiana, the cheaper the price will be.

Good luck!

I bought a 2021.5 235S last fall. Was able to negotiate down to 24.8 including the 12v fridge, inverter, solar and heated tank options.

Was able to pretty much secure that price locally and a more nationwide dealer within 500miles, but it did take a little pressure.

I’d sold my 10y old HW pop up with only 10% depreciation so I was pretty happy all around.

My personal guess is that the people buying new RVs now will fall in love with the RV vacation and not sell them in 1-2 years. But anyone’s guess.

Good luck!

New Roo

I made the 6 hour drive to Ohio for a 2021.5 235s last October. A shade less than $25k. Beat my local dealer by $14000, and the best deal I could find in central PA by $9k.

Just a heads up- there have been several price increases in the past few months from manufacturers and I heard that there was just a pretty significant jump- like 6%. So the prices you’re hearing form forum members were most likely campers built prior to those increases. Your best bet is to contact RVWholesalers in Lakeview OH and see what they have. I bought my first from them in 2011 and just recently bought rig number 5. Have always been very happy with their customer service. Key to being happy right now is to realize what is going on in terms of how many people are buying and issues with supply chains and not be one of those people who that thinks they’re the only person on the planet, lol. Another piece of advice- ignore those that advise you use a dealer with good prices like RVW as nothing more than a negotiating tool with your local dealer. If everyone does that then places that offer good deals go out of business and you’re left at the mercy of the overpriced guys. Another heads up- I’ve known several people that have bought lately and they’ll find a dealer advertising a good price only to have them try to tack on outrageous PDI fees at the end of the deal as if it’s part of the non negotiable items like TT&L.
