Rockwood Roo 23IKSS Questions

I have not been able to find these anywhere but does anyone know the following, FR site for the Roo does not indicate these.

1) Size of the Refrig/Freezer 6.3 or 8.0? Brand?

2) AC Brand, I think they are Dometic, but does anyone know if they come with the new Digital Thermastat, if not how hard are they to put in?

3) Brand of Water Filter it will use, the sales person at the dealer says he doesn't know and said wait until Saturday to pick mine up

4) Size of the tires? Mine has Aluminum wheels

5) I think the new 6 gal HWHeaters are gas/electric/dsi Attwood's which I hope they are still using I do not like my 6 Suburban in my trade in trailer, hate the anode rods

Thanks in Advance and sorry if this info seems to be repeated, I just can not find this info anywhere.

Caught me 30 miles away from my camper but this I can tell you. Mine is the first half 2015. The water heater has the electric switch outside beside the heater access panel. (previous htt was on the inside management panel). Also, the anode rod is part of the drain plug. Nice feature since you pull the plug to winterize and can see what life is left. My fridge has no digital controls. Gas only or electric/gas. The temp control is a bar on the cooling fins you slide up and down.

Dometic size may depend on if you have a separate door on the freezer.

2) AC Brand, I think they are Dometic, but does anyone know if they come with the new Digital Thermastat, if not how hard are they to put in?

They typically have a analog thermostat. I replaced mine with a digital.

3) Brand of Water Filter it will use, the sales person at the dealer says he doesn't know and said wait until Saturday to pick mine up

Water Pur. cartridges are about $30. Many have replaced theirs.

4) Size of the tires? Mine has Aluminum wheels

14" I am not sure about the rest of the size.

5) I think the new 6 gal HWHeaters are gas/electric/dsi Attwood's which I hope they are still using I do not like my 6 Suburban in my trade in trailer, hate the anode rods

Sorry, its a Suburban!

Thanks in Advance and sorry if this info seems to be repeated, I just can not find this info anywhere.

A/C is managed by the trailers heat and a/c thermostat. Kind of a disadvantage when you want to run both heat and a/c at the same time (like when you're trying to lower the humidity because condensation is building up). I just bought a portable dehumidifier and our icebreaker voyage is next week. I will find out if it can handle the condensation.

I wonder if they make all of them with Suburban now, or if it is like the auto industry, if the lot they buy at the time is cheaper they go with one or the other. I really hope my new 2015 is not a suburban, but thanks.

I think the Attwood's require a rod too. It's just nobody ever take it out to look at it.

Stand corrected. Attwoods don't require a anode rod. They build thicker tanks which act like the anode rod to slowly get eaten away. Probably why I never had to replace the rod in my 2010 starcraft htt.

I thought it was because attwoods are aluminum and steel for suburban, a buddy has a 2006 Fleetwood Bounder with an attwood, he put an anode rod in his attwood and it fused itself to the tank, the dealer could not remove it, had to replace his tank?

I have a 2014 23Ikss...it is definitely a suburban WH with the anode.
A/C does not have a digital thermostat.
I'll check the fridge and tires for you, as they have not changed for 2015

Roos/Shamrocks have always had Suburban WHs, as far as i remember.
have never heard of them having Atwoods, even with the first ones in 1999.

unless things have changed, you'll get an analog thermostat that's worthless. most change it out for a digital one, Hunter or Honeywell.

Ok after looking at my friends 2013 21SS Roo he has a Subruban but he put in the Brass relief valve without the anode rod so I am getting him a Rod from CW good thing he didn't use his camper much last year can't imagine what damage might have occurred. The new ones they put on the 2015 Roo heats up so much faster then the one on my 2012 Shasta and they are both Gas/Electric/DSI

wow, took out the anode rod!

since it's new, unless he has really bad water in it, it's probably alright.

i didn't replace our Roo's original anode until 7 years after we bought it.
but we have great water in our area.

On my 23ikss the anode rod is on the drain plug. So you pull it for every winterize and will see how much life is left

I would call your dealer and ask him for the inventory sheet for "YOUR ROO". It will provide the model # and serial number for all the equipment installed in your Roo. They are supposed to provide it during the purchase, but many don't. You might need this info should you need warranty work or to order parts after the warranty period.
If the dealer refuses to provide it, email the warranty rep for Roo at FR and ask them. Just provide your vin #.
