We have a 2012 rockwood roo 183. We want to switch out the dinette for recliners. Unfortunately there is the water heater under one bench. Has anyone found a way around this?

Three queen beds, seating for only two, and no indoor dining? Only going to work in perfect weather.

Could the water heater fit under the entertainment center? That would require done decent Reno work.

I have a 183... I see you have plural RECLINERS... ???

What are you going to look at while reclining? The TV? Is there enough room for even one recliner?

It would require significant re-work of hot water heater and water plumbing to move it... maybe to inside of cabinet below the TV? What if it should leak, and it needs vent space for propane use.

Personally I do a lot of reclining on my Zero-gravity chair under my deployed awning while camping...

When I camp for a couple of months in FL for the winter, I take along a 16 X 14 screen tent, put down my outdoor carpet, two recliners separated by a small folding side table... with a 32 inch TV and DVR sitting on another folding table in front. I call it my traveling living room. If it gets too wild outside, the lowered dinette (spare bed now; it is never setup as a dinette ) gets some pillow throws on the cushions and one or two could get cozy and watch the indoor TV. Just a thought!

A small tankless water heater may make this more doable. Just a thought.

If you tear out the dinette, you will not only lose space for the water heater, but also the exterior storage. While there is also external storage at the back of the camper, I find the storage under the bench required for chalks, blocks, WDH arms, tools, etc.

Not to sound snarky, but I recommend buying a camper that has what you need rather than trying to redesign your 183. Others' posts here point out the challenges, problems, and impracticalities your idea poses.

RSDATA's post reflects what we do for a "living room" with our 183. works quite well.
