Lifetimer that is nice to hear.

I have just one question, "have your bunk ends ever leaked?"
I am hoping for an encouraging answer.

I still feel positive about RVW they seemed to be doing everything to rectify the situation. I am just hoping I haven't got a lemon from Forest River. You know a unit built on a Monday morning or Friday afternoon, as they say.

No leaks at all. when I first got it home I had it all set up and we had about a 3 day heavy rain. No leaks any where! We have done some driveway camping and have not (knock on wood) found any problems.

Good luck and sorry to hear about your problems. I have talked with a lot of people with the 233S and have heard very little in the way of problems. You would be shocked at how many have bought from RVW without any problems.

Thanks Lifetimer,

Actually considering the number of units produced by FF and the number of complaints of leaky bunks that one reads about there must be tons of units without problems. Especially considering that people are more prone to complain than the are to praise.

I think this unit is just part of a bad batch from FF. From what I can piece together these attached bunk ends when through some growing pains.

I am confident that RVW and FF will make good. (or at least that is what I am telling myself)

Yup - Forums will always focus more on the problems and how to solve those problems. Which is a huge service so I'm not complaining.

But rarely, do people start a post with "I have no problems. All is good here. Have a nice day!"

There are much fewer problematic trailers than one would think.

Barney,
Mine was ordered at the beginning of Dec and was being built over the Christmas/New Year's holidays...so i hope the spiked egg nog didn't play a role with the way mine was built or I'll be and then . It's been sitting for almost 2 months on the RVW lot. I hope the new 2012 attached bunk ends aren't the cuplrit since that's the way they make them now.

I have read a few posts here and on other forums about leaking tent ends, but most seem to be fixed after the seams have time to cure. Only a couple have had them completely replaced, unless it was found during delivery like you experienced and then there's no reason not to have them replaced. Only 10 days and counting until pick up day .

I had a similar issue last year when I picked up my Rockwood, it had a leak. I asked for a new Unit, and RVW did get me a new one ordered..They met me halfway when it was time to pick up the second unit, maybe you could ask them to do that for you?

Things are in motion. FR has confirmed they will be fixing all our issues and RVW has requested a 2 week turn around.

Woo hoo - I received an email from RVW yesterday saying our unit is ready for pick-up!

Now we are planning the trip down there to pick it up.

Ordering my 233S in July and receiving it in October at RVDirect in Orlando, I received a 2012-and-a-half model. It had upgrades we did not expect: u-dinette, battery cut-off switch, Genisis sound system and a 22" tv. The 3 beds were the snap/bungee cord style. After 2 trips and a lot of rain, we have no issues. Again, reading so much at this site before purchasing, had me well prepared. Other than rusting keyholes on the bed locks, we've seen nothing wrong. Our granddaughters (6 & 4) kid tested it for us for a week. The camper survived, as we did, also. After 12 years in a popup, the snap/bungee cord beds were nothing unusual to us.

Oh okay, well I hope all goes well.
The number one rule of purchase is be prepared, and willing to walk away if you don't get what they advertize, what they've offered, what they promise. Period! Walking away without it will be dissapointing, but not even as much as taking delivery on something your not satisfied with.

We have the same problem with our Radio/CD/whatever unit. I'm assuming they are getting you a new one while it is back at the factory? I wish we had taken something to try, but did test it all out that weekend. I'll bug them next week on the replacement part. Running out to check bunkends after I finish this post!

This thread reminds me of Carly Simon's song "Anticipation"!
