Roo 233s Purchasing Advice

I am considering purchasing a new Roo 233s but have limited dealers who carry it here in East Texas. I will be at the Houston RV show next weekend .. Toppers RV (Waller, TX ) will be there with the Roo's..what price point and interest rate (with good credit) should I be aiming for at this show or any other dealer? Should I expect special financing/show prices at such a show?

Other than Toppers RV I do not know anyone in Texas carrying Roo's and have looked at the possibility of Camping World dealers in Poteau, Ok, Little Rock Arkansas, Lowell Arkansas and a separate dealer in Linn Creek Missouri -Quality RV- all these seem to have significant lower prices for Roos.

Another option is to order one from a dealer 20 miles away that is a Rockwood dealer but has never carried the Roo's?

I have learned so much on this forum about the Roo..any advice would be much appreciated.

Factory installed slide out topper is a must! The RV show will most definitely be the best deal! Just make sure you have your research done before you get there!

You can get amazing deals on used ones I bought 2015 last year for 15,000 that had only 6 nights in it!!! And many options already installed!

Yes, I plan to have the topper and tongue jack on it. I looked at a used 2017 in Oklahoma but one the canvas ends had a lot of mold on top of it and there was some mildew under the mattresses so I ended up backing out of that suspecting a possible leak but I never did spray a water hose to test the bunk ends.

New ones I have seen priced in the range of $22,900 to $25,999...what is a fair price for me and the dealer ?

Thank you for your reply. Glad to hear you enjoy yours...I have 5 kids so the roo gives us the best layout for bed space and is light weight compared to private bunkhouses.

Have any Shamrock dealers nearby? They are twins and made on the same line
They only differ in color (we prefer the Shamrock colors, others prefer the roo colors)
This may open up more dealers near you if there are.
I always arranged a loan through my credit union, if the dealer can beat that, I go with them....if not, then I stick with the credit union.
I really don't buy at shows, I go to look only and I want a unit that alot fewer people have trapised through. I don't think show prices really get you any better deal, the low monthly payments they tout are for loans that run out way too many years for me. I don't want to still be paying on my camper 12 or 15 years down the road.

For price, I compared a local dealer with what I could get from the online wholesalers, my local dealer was cheaper, so got the camper.

Ok I will consider a credit union..how many years do they typically give for an RV loan? THank you...I will look into the Shamrock dealers. One dealer told me freight charges to deliver to Texas are going up as well as Rockwood prices here shortly, so buy now..? I don't know if this was just a sales tactic or not.

That may depend on the credit union. Mine CU treats RV loans as an auto loan (same rate and terms).

Roo 233S purchase

I would avoid Camping World for a camper purchase! Many post about and most are not very good!

Yes, thats what I have heard also..I suppose that has alot to do with service.

What is the highest price you would pay for one? Keep in mind the freight charge from Indiana to Texas is around $2,500-3,000. It may be worth a trip up North if I can save a significant amount of money.

We were also in the same situation looking at Roo's but went with Shamrock because of lack of local inventory. FR verified there is NO difference in build spec so we went with a new 2018 last year because the used prices were so close to the new ones ...it just made sense to have a warrantee, glass shower and new bath configuration of the 2018.

Roo 233S purchase

jandg, I bought mine at Roskopf's RV Center, in Richfield, WI. here is a link to the 233S that they have: https://www.rvt.com/dealerframe/rosk...php?id=7788688
I think you could get at least $1000.00 off his asking price!
It doesn't look like he has the topper on the slide-outs, so that would bump that price up a bit.
I have gotten great immediate service for 3 small problems that we had with our 2016 Roo 21SS!

23k out the door - everything but the heated tanks... 2018 model. financed through my credit union - rates depend on how long you finance but under 25k wont go longer than 4 years for RV loan. Current rates are 5.14 %

Do you know if they sell Roo 233S hybrids, which is what this thread is about and what the OP is looking for.

I highly recommend watching some youtube videos by "Josh the RV Nerd".
Very informative on all campers and variety of question and yes the Roo 233s. Is a dealer in southern Michigan at Haylett RV. I know your in Texas but Im sure he would work with you on any questions you may have. Good luck and Happy Camping.

Thanks for all info guys, this will definitely help me as I look at the Roo down in Houston next weekend. I do watch Josh a lot and have thought seriously about calling the dealership in Michigan to see what they have to offer.

I think 30% off MSRP should be your goal. As for loans, up to 12 years. My CU was giving like 7.5% which is nuts!!! Much more than cars. I got it for under 5.5% . Which is still nuts! Just bought my wife a Rav4 and got 0.99% for it.
