Roo 23BDS

Hey my wife and I are thinking of purchasing the new Roo 23BDS. Id like to hear from some people that own them if you are happy with the mix of tent and murphy bed. Thanks!

I'm not a fan of murphy beds but if you don't mind those then this would be a great layout with an extra bed for guests.

We purchased a 2019 23 BDS back in September. We have only done a few weekend trips but, so far we really like the murphy bed. It's relatively easy to put up or down, if you keep your fingers out of the pinch zone! The bed is quite comfortable and you can get in and out without climbing over your partner. We look forward to some longer trips this spring and summer.

An interesting hybrid-hybrid design. I can see the utility of the Murphy bed for overnight stops on the road although it eliminates the ability to sleep outdoors on that end of the trailer all the time and uses up "half" the interior space with the bed is deployed.

We have been on the road with our 2018 bds and we love it! Murphy bed is easy to use and very comfortable. Tent in back is easy to set up and pretty comfortable but one person has to climb over the over to get to the outside spot. Overall though we are very happy with the “hybrid” arrangement.

Same problem with the front tents, just not quite as bad since it's wide open in front, rather than a small entrance around the bathroom in the back.

We only have one trip in our 23BDS so far and it was in November. Yikes.

We were between the 24WS and the 23BDS and went this route for the following reasons. This is our first hybrid coming from a popup:

We can sleep in the bed turtled. (Bears/rainy departure/traveling)
Bed is very comfortable and easy to tip up and down.
Boatload of storage under and around the bed
Still lots of floor space with the bed up
Shorter slide seemed less issue prone (subjective)
Didn't like the couch next to the dinette on the 24WS.
Like the U dinette (can sleep a 6' person or two)
USB and power plugs on nightstands

Little things we don't like:
The big window in the front is blocked with the bed is up.
The big pillow eating hole on the bed (LOL)
No canvas overhead.
Unless you tilt it up, there is a bed in the kitchen. (Yes, it only takes 10 seconds to lift it...)
Less counter space than the 24WS

We have several trips planned this year and will get a better feel.

Not an exact match but very similar. Have a Surveyor 200MBLE. Keep in mind, just the wife and I... No kids... After the 3rd trip, we have found ourselves leaving the MBed down most of the time. It is a bit of a hassle to let up and down and keep making the bed over and over. We like the concept but have found it more convenient to only put it up on occasion....when we have company and need to be inside.

We also have the same dinette slide... We leave it down, have made additional cushions and converted this to a couch/daybed/dog bed. Dinette waas just too tight and uncomfortable.

Call us crazy... we love it but dont use as it was intended.
