If this is your first RV, then I recommend reading the info at this link as it is aimed at the new owners.

Yes, we've had a couple of very basic older popups...so our first RV. Thank you for the article. Very helpful.

We have it stored in our barn...there is shore power, but we had unplugged it last weekend when we parked it on Sunday.

We are still looking for our battery disconnect switch...definitely don't have anything that looks like this. Maybe we don't have one? I've heard we can just disconnect the negative battery cable so we'll do that for now.

Doubtful your 2011 Roo ever had a battery switch. Pulling the Negative cable every time you park not in use will get very old. Just put a switch there. Every boat store including Amazon has them.

I have a 2014 Roo 233S. On mine, the battery switch is a push-pull device located near the converter. Pushed in, the battery is disconnected. Pulled out, the battery is connected (yours my be different, but look around anyway and see if you have something like this.) If you disconnect the battery with the switch, I believe it disconnects the the gas detector also, so it should save your battery charge pretty well. On my camper, I think the slide takes its power directly from the battery cable, so that may not be disconnected. Good luck, and enjoy your hybrid. I love mine.

I have a 2014 Shamrock/Roo 183... I have wondered for years... does this disconnect switch actually disconnect the LP detector AND the radio? How about the front jack? I think the jack is connected directly to the battery. I know it disconnects the awning motor... from experience.

On mine, the jack is connected to the battery with its own wire (my Roo didn't come with an electric jack, I installed my own.) I remove my batteries for the winter and put them on a special charger, so I can't use the jack to move the trailer if I want to. Couldn't hitch or unhitch without the jack. I bolted the camper's battery cable to the jack's power wire and taped it up. Now, if I plug the converter into power during the winter, and connect the battery disconnect switch, the jack works because the converter will power it.

I believe the RVIA * code requires the LP detector to be connected directly to the battery and convenience requires the radio to be likewise connected to preserve its memory. Easy enough to check on your camper though...

FWIW, new Roo's (at least my 235S) radios are behind/after the on-frame disconnect switch. No power reaches the radio with the trailer "turned off."

Another 2011 233S owner here. That year trailer did not come with a battery disconnect switch. You will either have to disconnect negative post or install a disconnect switch. I installed mine on the negative side right up near the battery.
