Roo Mod: Storage Box

Long time viewer / First time poster!!

We purchased a 2008 Roo last fall and I am finally getting around to adding some of my own touches. Our last pop up had a storage compartment where we stored our outdoor carpet. We also had two pvc tubes that stored our hot dog sticks and our tent poles.
For this mod I picked up an aluminum 12 inch wide tool box off of Craig’s list to store our carpet, axe and fishing poles. I had to move the propane tanks forward by about two inches to allow for the box to open. I then mounted the battery in the box. After I mounted the box to the A-frame I drilled and mounted 6 stainless steel eye bolts. I put the tubes on top of the box and then used bungee cords attached to the eye bolts. This allows me to take off the tubes when I arrive and lay them under the camper.

I hope you have some kind of vents in the box. Charging batteries can produce hydrogen. You don't want that buildiing up in the box.

Looks identical to the box I installed also... If it is it has mounting slots on the bottom of the short edge (built in venting ), it's actually for a pickup box. Works great for trailer storage also!

Really like the idea of the truck box....wanted to do this myself to add storage to the tounge but made my own brackets to hold the batteries.

This has been on my wish list. Might have to tackle it soon.
