Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie with my fairly new Rockwood Roo . Pulled the trailer out of storage and noticed that the battery was not powering the trailer. Press the battery button on the inside panel and it lights up to a immediate fade out. It's reading no battery power to the rig. However, upon diagnostics the battery has a full charge. Slides don't work, lights don't work, I got nothing. Help [emoji847]
First thought: Is you battery disconnect switch turned on? On my Roo 19, it was inside, near the power center, down near the floor. It worked like an old car's headlight switch - pull out to turn on, push in to disconnect (off). If it's not inside, the newer models have it mounted to the A-frame in front of the battery under the propane tanks. Turns ON/OFF with a large red key.
But if you're initially getting a reading on the battery monitor inside, I would THINK it's already on. If that's so, I don't know why nothing works.
What exactly do you mean by "upon diagnostics the battery has a full charge"??
Thanks for the quick reply. We tried the battery disconnect. My neighbour was watching me and came over. We got nothing. We even disconnected it. And still no power . I'm really confused
OK. The other thing I can think of off-hand: There should be 2 fuses, probably 40amp, located just to the left of the vertical row of fuses in your power center. (The red ones just to the left of the guys finger in the pick below.) They are to protect the converter if you inadvertently hook the battery up backwards. Sometimes they can blow for other reasons.
Check those two fuses.
And again, are you sure the battery is good and fully charged? Maybe swap your battery for your neighbors and see what happens.
Ok! I Thank you for this. I will check those in the morning. Good possibility I may have connected incorrectly at 1st. [emoji1317][emoji51]fingers crossed !
Not sure if this will help but my battery is fully charged. When I disconnect the battery switch and push the button to check the battery charge, it will briefly light up, and I mean briefly. Then nothing. Sounds like what you just saw? Maybe disconnect switch is not turning power back on?

How are you checking the battery. If you see some reading when you push battery switch, that means the battery is connected ( unless you are connected to shore power). it is possible your battery is deeply discharged and as soon as you put the slightest load on it the voltage drops. If you have a 12V lamp you can connect directly to the battery terminals you can check it or check specific gravity. You can also pull the battery and have i tested at a auto parts store. many cut off switches still leave the CO/Propane detector connected and if it has sat all winter, the battery will be totally discharged.

Disconnect from any source of external power (No tow vehicle; not plugged in).
Wait a few hours and put a meter on the battery a read the voltage. Voltage less than 11.5 volts is dead. Voltage around 12.7 means it is fully charged. Voltage of 12 volts means it is 1/2 charged.
OR
Press the battery test button on your panel.
One light out of 4 means it is dead. Voltage above 6 volts but less than 10.5 volts
No lights at all means the panel is disconnected from the battery. Check for popped inline current limiters (could be one - Travel trailer or two - 5th wheel). In any case, the one you need to look for is near the metal umbilical box.
4 lights means it is receiving charging voltage from an external source - NOT that it is "full". The "F" is only used when you are reading the tanks; not the battery. You use the other side "C" for the battery test.

I agree. Sounds like they battery is dead and won't hold a charge.
