Stock number

Am I the only one that is annoyed with the stock number that dealers paint on the front hitch !!
Each and everyone of my hybrids had a painted number on the hitch that I had to eventually paint over !!!

I had sticker with the stock number written on mine. I just peeled it off after we brought it home. It seems like painting the stock number would be overkill and a time waster.

Whatever paint my dealer used, it came right off with paint thinner.

It would have been nice if like Afguy, they would have applied a sticker.
What my dealer did is paint that number the length of the front part of the hitch, on both sides. It looks like an ugly graffiti......I'll try thinner!

When we bought our first fifth wheel, there had been a sticky, adhesive sign stuck on the nose cap. The entire six years we used that...it never completely came off. We used everything known to man to remove the "ick" but never could...it always was just slightly visible and a HUGE eyesore to me (probably the only person who really paid it any attention).

All the same - it would be nice if dealers would "THINK" before doing stuff like that.

Like you Robert, I'm probably the only person who paid attention to that detail, but my hybrid is new and that's how I want it to look like......no eyesore.
Maybe because I'm a painter of profession, I pay attention to all these details...anyway !
Since it's getting close to winter here in Maine, I'll wait till spring and do a paint job on that portion of the hitch.
